I bought this unit 20 something years ago for use in a large shop. It got abused, dropped, constantly used. It pulled lug nuts off that big guns would not loosen. The case shattered after 15 hard years. You won't get that from the $200 guns. If you are on a budget, this gun is awesome.

Great deal on this tool. Will do great for "every-other-weekend garage warriors" or "do-it-yourself" car maintenace people. If you are into heavy duty and / or every day, to include heavy mechanic stuff, I would probably buy somenthing more heavy duty (more torque). I normally do tire rotations, cv axles jobs, brake jobs, oil changes, water pumps and tune ups when needed, to maintain my 4 vehicles and my motorcycle, and this tool its good for me. I think this is "a 4-star tool" but I gave it a five, considering what you can do with it and the low price.

it's not the heaviest duty tool, but has worked with everything i put it to. thinking about it, my only problem is probably not having enough air pressure to really drive this to full capacity...but i can't complain. it does the job.

this gun is scary powerful, i brake studs all the time using this gun, i would say this thing has closer to 1000 lb tq. it just blows my mind every time i use it. just to warn you if, you must use 2 hands or you will brake your hands right off.

Had mine for over 15 years on race car and other auto projects and never had a problem. Haven't used it much over last year so moisture from my airline finally did the direction plunger in. Am going to get another.

I am cheap. Used this to replace four MacPherson struts. Would not have wanted to do it without this tool (impact wrenches will torque some bolts that have a tendency to spin, where a hand wrench won't work as well). I only have a 6-gallon 4.0 CFM compressor, which is TOO SMALL for this tool. However, it EASILY removed all bolts on the strut job. It could only torque bolts up to about 80 foot-pounds with my UNDERSIZED compressor, but that was good enough for me.

When i first tried it i set the pressure to 90psi like it says. Well it sucked. So I tried turning the pressure up bit by bit and at about 110psi to 120psi it works outstanding. I think that is why the negative reviewers were having problems. Keep the air pressure above 100psi and you will be very happy with the performance. Maybe a larger hose would help. Seems well build too, but have only had it for a day, but i'm very pleased with it.

I used this to get the bolt off of the ignition advancer on my motorcycle after I failed to do it by hand. I bought it because of the price and torque. I read all the reviews before I bought it and knew it's limitations. I figured it'd be stronger than me and it was. It got the bolt off with barely one press on the button with the 4th position on the knob. Made me happy! I also bought a bigger hose (the 3/8" not the 1/2" that is recommended in the manual because my compressor has the 1/4" quick connect). It seemed to be faster with the larger hose. The only thing I didn't like was how difficult it was to get the impact socket on. It was made difficult because this is the first time I've ever used an impact wrench and getting the socket on isn't intuitive for me. I'm not sure the socket was on all that straight but it could have been the impact sockets that I bought at the same time that were on sale.
