Needed a pump for a swimming pool liner change.This pump worked GREAT and FAST.I even had 125' of disscharge hose on this pump.Can not comment on dirty or waste water use as mine was clean water use.Great Pump

I found the pump to be a higher overall quality than many Harbor Freight electric tools. One bad design though is the outlet. It's very close to the body of the unit and is directly under where the handle is. When mating an appropriate size hose, I had to use a flexible coupler in order to miss the handle built into the unit. Seems like a mistake that would be made designing this on a computer and not "real world" tested in the field. Since most people will be using a 1 1/2" pool backwash hose with a pump such as this, it would be nice if an adaptor that would allow you to secure a hose like this with hose clamps would be included (like my prior "smaller" pump from harbor freight had). It took a few different adaptors and improvising at the local home center to hack together a suitable solution. I feel most would adapt this down to a garden hose out of frustration trying to get a suitable host solution worked out... but this is a mistake as from experience this SEVERELY limits the amount of flow these pumps can deliver.

We design/build water features & over the yrs pump prices have gone out of site so we started using Hyrdo-Pacific pumps from Harbor Freight this pump works in our smaller mid-sized ponds only 2 issues 1st) the float cord (tether) becomes a pain as clients clean the skimmer & hit the tether wrong we have to come out & show them 2nd) the top handle gets in the way of Hard uprite pumping usually we remove it others wise 2 thumbs up

After researching my options, I purchased this to drain my pool. It took longer than I expected, but then again I used PVC pipe to reduce the 1 1/2' drain to that of 5/8" hose. The float works better than needed. In fact I had to tape it up in order to drain down to the bottom. After 3 days, the pool was empty and now I get to start with my repairs. If you you need a durable pump, look no further.
