Worked great right out of the box. I read the reviews and didn't have any of the problems stated in the negative comments. I even used the HF powder. Used an old toaster and tried a few smalls and was the finish was incredible. Extremely happy with this unit.

Worked perfect right out of box,coat was even,smooth and looks great only wish hf had more colors. This unit is the exact same as major brands. Didn't have any of the problems listed in the lower rated reviews.

Gun worked fine but paint was lumpy. Spent a lot of time sifting paint but will make sure future paint appears good before purchase. Do wish they carried cups and feel that the containers that the paint comes in should look different since they do not fit the gun. Did finally find replacement cups that are supposed to fit. Once I acquired better paint the results blew my socks off. Color and finish would be had to beat except at the pro level.

I have never worked with powder coating before but it turns out to be very simple. Not knowing much about powder coating other than watching a few videos on you-tube I was surprised as to how well my first try turned out. I was also suprised to find out that even if you make mistakes there are various ways to either correct them or depending on where you are in the process you can start over. I believe I will get a lot of use out of this product making my projects look more professional.

My only wish is that H. F. would stock more colors but there are other suppliers out there.

I normally do not give reviews...if something does not work right, I just trash it and never buy again...having said that...this Powder Coating System by Chicago Electric is AWESOME..I had to leave a 5+ rating...this thing is easy to use and powder coats all types of metals to a super finish and a rock hard coat..you can cheaply buy several colors and in a couple of hours you will have a like new finish (maybe better). The secret to it all is preparation of the part...the actual powder coating only takes a few minutes..then you bake it in a electric oven.DONT use your household oven..toxic fumes..the best way to prep the parts is to remove all grease, paint, or other finish by sandblasting..if you dont have one, slower but just as effective is sandpaper...you must remove all old finish..heat the part 10 minutes in a oven at 300 degress..wear rubber gloves, put it on a clean cotton cloth, spray with 50-50 solution of Acetone and Rubbing Alcohol..this removes all grease, fingerprints and other contaminations...dont be shy..use a good amount of solution and rub the part thourhorly...let dry...then powder coat..follow all directions...I use 15 lbs. of air pressure...used the tip that was installed out of the box....cook part for 30 minutes at 400 degrees....let cool till cool to touch...it will be perfect..tough finish and looks good..YouTube shows a lot of examples.. Have tried steel, copper, brass, aluminum etc. all look great...get one..you must have acess to a air compressor..a small one works fine...surface prep is a MUST.............go for it....

Easy to set up and easy to use. Near perfect with 1st use. Just make sure part is clean and application area is dust free. Perfect no run coating. Much easier than painting.
