Comments about Central Machinery 10" Bench Top Disc Sander:

This sander is very well made and powerful. Has a 3/4 hp motor!!!! Great for heavy duty work, lots of sanding or just little fine stuff. When I recieved it, it was very well packed in the box. it was a little greasy but that's ok, couple of papertowels and it's all clean.

One thing i do not like is that when you are using the disc sander, there is a big push to the left on the workpiece. (Because the disc spins counterclocksise, and you operate from the left side, or should.) I had a kickback when I was operating it. The workpiece shot out of the sander to the left. BECAREFUL!!!!! Most other disc sanders I've used don't have that big push to the left. I think it is because the table is a little bit higher on this one than the other ones I've used. So that means that the workpiece is higher on the disc, hitting more of the upper part of the disc. I also noticed that when making a square corner, round on your workpiece, (if workpiece is small enough) the other corners of the workpiece will hit those ridges on alumium table and cause it to get hung up while sanding.

Another thing I don't like is that it is purple, not blue like in the picture. But that shouldn't be to hard to fix.

I would definantely buy this again, but I highly doubt that I will ever need to buy another.

Good Disc Sander

Cons

  • Thin aluminum table

Best Uses

Comments about Central Machinery 10" Bench Top Disc Sander:

This is a very good sander that would have been great with a stronger table. I also had to replace the table locking bolts.

It adapts to your shop vac and is a great wood sander.

If you do heavy work or a lot of metal, get the 12 inch instead.

With casual use or a smaller budget, this is the one.
