As a long time user of name brand cordless tools, I was tired of paying the high price for replacement batteries. I saw this set advertised and for the price figured I couldn't go wrong. I've been using this set to build a pole barn and have no complaints what so ever! The drill is powerful enough to drill 3/4" holes with a paddle bit through 6"x6" treated lumber with no problems. Lets not even forget to mention that the replacement batteries are cheap, and you can purchase a 2 year replacement warranty with them for hardly any extra money!

My husband bought this for me for my birthday as my first cordless power tool set and he was smart enough to include an extra battery and extra blades for the reciprocating saw with it. He would have added blades for the circular saw but Harbor Freight doesn't carry 5 1/2" blades and apparently after looking around, they are hard to find unless you scour the internet and overpay to have them shipped.

The drill is heavy but that is due to the battery weight. It is powered just fine for any work I have done for home repair and projects in the shop. The circular saw is decent as well, however the laser guide is pretty much just fluff as I don't use it. If you do use it, it would be helpful. I use the mess out of the reciprocating saw in my craft work and cleanup around the farm...it has cut through 4" oak branches and even 2" copper pipe without bogging down or overheating and is by far my current favorite tool. I use the flashlight the most and I keep a battery constantly charged for it---super bright!

I don't feel that the tools overly drain the life of the batteries as previously posted, but then we may be using them differently. However, if you don't buy an extra one you are crazy and will be sorry. Also I have found that they don't take an entire hour to charge but you must take them off as soon as the light turns green or the battery will overheat.

This set was a great buy for the money and I am pleased as punch with my first cordless set of power tools. No more lugging around the extension cord and borrowing my husband's tools.

Favorite Tool-Reciprocating Saw...With it's portable capability I can take it and the extra battery out into the back forty and cut walking sticks and interesting pieces of wood to use in my arts and crafts and stay gone all day long. No more borrowing tools and the best boon- no more hacking away with a hatchet or handsaw...I'm too pretty for that!

I only use the light and the drill. Both of the saws don't have any power and get stuck alot when making cuts. They also just drain the battery.

I got this set recently after buying my first home, will plans of doing repairs myself. Do yourself a favor, invest in quality. Everything is underpowered, except the flash light. The Sawzall needs a better blade to be effective, and even then you still have to baby it just to get little jobs done. The drill has its own problems, it's basically and lowpowered screwdriver, unless it's particle board. The Circular saw isn't bad, but again, you need a decent blade. For the price you pay to upgrade these tools, you might as well have bought the brand name tools. If you do decide to get this, make sure you get yourself a few batteries, and a magazine to read while you wait for them to charge.
