This is a work horse of a 2 1/2 horsepower router. A little heavy for hand operation so I put this in my router table several years ago. Have run it for hours on end and it has not given me any problems.

I love this router, especially for the cost. But that is Harbor freight. I have this router and the 1.5 hp they offer. After reading the other reviews, the only complaint is the power & weight. Thats a given, its a 2.5 hp. If you don't use often or are not familiar with routers then don't complain if it too much to handle. This is everything I expected; heavy, powerfull, and durable.

This is one powerful tool.I have owned it a tad over 5 yrs now an never a problem .. It can be rough to get bits out sometimes but if you rub a lil chalk over the bit first they will slid rite out..Wish it had adjustable rpm control..Make sure you have a good hold on it when you turn it on .. I bought a second one an made a Router Table for it an added a speed control.. It has run all day long , an taken any thing I have thrown at it, 2x6 , 2x8, .. An with speed control it can do door panels an light trim also... I would recommend this tool to anyone...

A little heavy, but seems good and tough.

I found this router a bit bulky and unwieldy. So I have mounted it to my shop made router table. Works great in this application. My other routers are better suited for handheld applications. My biggest complaint is binding of the side posts and adjusting the bit height, they could have come up with a better system.

Had this router for over 5 yrs, it is a real beast! It is heavy, but it is also very powerful. Total over kill for small round overs and coves, but great for wide/deep plunges and large raised panel bits. I use it primarily mounted in a table. I have noticed that it can plunge slightly at an angle if pressure isn't applied to both handles evenly. But this is easy to deal with if you pay attention. Have both hands on it when you turn it on, LOTS OF TORQUE!

This router is very powerful for the money. The only compaint that I have with it is that it is very difficult to mount to a router table and adjusting the height of the bit is also a little bit of pain compared to some of the name brands. Overall its a good buy.

I have had this router for almost four years, and haven't had a single problem with it. It takes good arms to maintain control after you have been working with it for a couple of hours, but it hasn't slowed down on any wood that I have thrown at it. I was told before I bought it that it might go through some bushings and bought some spares, but the originals are still in it and the spares were a waste of money.

I've owned two for going on seven years and have used them in both home and commercial settings cutting both wood and non ferrous metals with no problems. I've used bits ranging from 1/4 inch radius round over bits to 1 and 1/8 inch pattern cutting bits and they never failed to keep up with the Makita router they were based on.
