I have a bridgeport knee mill that had a 1 1/2 hp, 3 phase motor on it. I did not have a rotary phase converter, so I bought this 2 hp, single phase motor. I machined a adapter for the 2hp motor and made it fit the knee mill. I installed it on the mill about two years ago, I haven't had any problems with it working. It starts up every time and I run it for hours. I also bought another motor and did the samething on my lathe. No problem.

I bought this motor to use in my home-made bandsaw. Thus far it runs great. I figured I'd get a more powerful motor that wasn't 'name brand' for cheaper than a 'name brand' motor for more that is listed as less powerful. The fact that it doesn't come with it's own cord wasn't that big of a deal, it was just a matter of picking up an extension cord and splicing it into the proper wiring configuration. This motor IS reversible so if you are skeptical on mounting you have options.

In a compressor rated for a 2hp motor, this unit worked well for 5 months then started to over heat, I laid a fan blowing into housing, then it started to blow breakers at start-up, then started to blow breakers when load increased to the 100psi range then just quit.... 90 days not long enough for warrenty, wasted money, now good money after bad....
