got this on sale during the big parking lot sale or whatever they call it. anyway, i had to get a rain check (of course they didn't have any in stock)so i waited, waited, and waited some more. i finally got fed up and went to another store when i was out of town. conveniently, they had a shipment coming in later that night. i was able to pick it up the next day and took it home to my garage and put it together. it wasnt too difficult, but as others stated it was hard to distinguish which bolt went where. got it figured out and used it on a diesel engine i was working on. worked great, lifted higher than any other crane i have used before, and the price cant be beat.

Seems like everything I buy from Harbor Freight, has ripped up boxes and missing parts. In this case there is not one bolt to attach the casters to the main frame. That's 16 bolts missing. That is so far I have not even started putting the unit together yet.

I purchased one from a harbor freight store got it home to put it together only to find i can due to it missing 60 nuts bolt and washers.due to them being sold out in the stores and them not knowing when theyll be getting more i had to call their hotline and have them send me the parts only to find out the majority have to be special ordered and shipped directly from the manufacturer in im assuming some part of asia because i was told it will be 6-8 weeks for the parts to arrive.so in approximately two months i will be able to put my hoist together.it looks like it will work well once i get the parts to assemble it but if you cant go to a store and check that all the fasteners are there you are looking at a 6-8 week wait to get the parts to you.

Works good, plenty strong. Assembly took way longer than necessary due to poorly written instructions. Step-by-step is on one page, but no reference to WHICH bolt/nut to use. Had to refer to the parts list for correct bolts, then measure every bolt, and check for bolt grade.
Box did not contain the 16 M8 bolts for the casters, so another trip to the hardware store to buy those - out about $10. Assembly too about 2 hours and should have been about 30 minutes

This shop crane is great. I purchased this about 6 months ago for a great price it was on sale for about $200.00. I pulled 3 motors and transmissions with this and not one problem. When your putting it together make sure you leave all the bolts loose until its together then tighten every thing down and your good to go.

It was missing the castor bolts and nuts(16pcs M8 x 5/8), which are not available at local depot so I substituted 5/16-18 x 3/4 which screwed in upside down and worked for two of the castors that are tapped holes. Then the jack didn't work until I really super tightened the bleeder valve that had a bunch of paint on it. The unit is good but it set me back a week and 10.00 in parts

Reason for 3 stars...I had a 20% off tag and decided to get this unit. I went to my usual HF store but they did not have one so they called the other store in town and they showed 3 on hand. When I got there it was actually 1& 3/4 of one. I opted for the display which had more of the parts. One of the pins was missing and also the rubber Ram filler cap. I didn't notice it (plug) until a few days after I had ordered the pins. Now they want my life history to get a plug. I have a non-fold crane as well so I alternate the plug except when I need to use both then I use the plug from my 10 ton (HF)axle jack. Other wise I would heartely reccommend this crane. I have 2 IH Scouts and the engines (4 on hand) are very heavy. Had to load and unload during my move from Spokane, WA to Pahrump, NV. then from my rental storage to my shop. Lottsa loading and unloading.

I use this crane around the shop for a lot of heavy lifting jobs. I lifted a 2 ton milling machine out of my pickup with it once. I would recommend getting the load leveler also. Works great.

Good tool, have used it to pull complete engine and trans from 3/4 ton Chevy. Worked vey well. Recommend retracting the ram all the way when not in use to prevent corrosion.
