When I use a winch I use it hard. This winch has worked well I used it to lift my 500 lbs atv of the ground to work on it and the lead not being mounted on the winch helped me put the winch in the frame of the atv with the lead on the bumper. The only thing I had to do is make mounts 1/4 inch steel and 4 bolts is all I needed for me

Installed this on my 4 wheel ATV to raise and lower the snow blade and it works VERY well (I think I could tear up the AYV if I just hit "UP" and let it run). I'm heading back tomarrow to buy another one for my shop use. I've only been using it a short time so I can not comment on longevity but I'm more than pleased withit at this point.

I've used two 2000lb winches on my skimmers when I go trauling for shrimp. For three seasons (years) they worked very good at picking up and lowering my nets. I've also used a 2000lb winch on my A-Frame in which I use it to lift up the front end of my riding lawn mower to remove the cutting blades. No gripes, no complaints from my end. Yes, I recommend these to anyone.

I have owned two of these winches and the only reason I dont have the first one is because it went on my four wheeler when I sold it. So of course I went back and bought another one just like it. I have it mounted on a Polaris 500 and it does just fine. I hope that everyone has the luck I have had with these they are good little winches for the price you pay . And if you buy the extended warranty
It is an even better deal .

First off those complaining about a mount the box does not say it includes a mount and if you are not providing a year, make and model of your ATV there is no way they could include a mount for the thousands of ATV's out there! You can buy a mount on [@], [@] or do a google search. I made a custom mount for mine and tested it pulling my 2001 Eiger 400 4X4 and myself and it does what it should. I also pulled my 14 foot dual axle trailer with the trailer jack down and pulled it across the yard just fine...... I had no probems with the spool or cable breaking! To those complaining about the speed it is not any slower than my friends Warn, the reason this thing can pull 2000 LBS is beceause it is geared really really low and that makes it slow!

I mounted the 2000 lb. winch on my 16 foot trailer and it pulled my 1952 Ford 8N Tractor right up the 4 foot ramp and onto the trailer with little strain, and I didn't have to use a snatch block. My tractor weighs 2500 lbs, so I was impressed that this little winch made it look so easy. I used a very hot marine battery, so that probably helped too. Watch for coupons! Bought this for when my kids go out ridding and I'm not around.
Made a simple mount because it does not come with one, and mounted it to my kids 125cc ATV. after chaecking that everything was in working condition, we set out to get the ATV STUCK. Go figure, it did not take us long to achieve this. Now that it was good and stuck, we pulled out the cable, attached it to a tree, with a strap, and with out any effort what so ever, the winch pulled out the ATV just like it is supposed to.
For the sale price, on a small quad, I don't have any fear of getting stuck while out on a family day to play in the mud.

Yes you need a mount to use the fairlead roller.Took me 30 minutes to build one from readily avail angle iron, 10.00 total. This unit was actually cheaper than replacement cable for my existing winch. It got me out of a very nasty jam, pulling my atv 200 feet out of a swamp and 15 foot high embankment, even though the transmission was locked and wheels would not roll. I bought 2 more.
