Great pump for the price

By csdewd

from Colorado Springs, CO

Pros

  • price
  • Quailty

Cons

    Best Uses

    • DIY Aquarium Filters

This pump is an outstanding pump for the tropical fish enthusiast. I have built two filters with these pumps and both operate flawlessly. The different options in connecting the out flow is a definite bonus.

At least get one for a spare

    By Gold Fish Farmer

    from Hudson Valley, NY

    Pros

    • Good flow
    • Low Cost
    • Quiet

    Cons

      Best Uses

      • Large aquariums
      • Very Small Ponds

This works well in my 110 gallon stock tanks. Not powerful enough for my 160 gallon stock tank. You need a gph 2x the tank or 1x the pond capacity. This flows about as fast as my sink. The next size larger is too much for my tanks, but would be great for a small-medium pond. Wish there was a model between 264 and 620 gph. 400-450 gph would be perfect!

      Pros

      • Has a Pre-filter
      • not so big
      • Not Too Small

      Cons

      • The fittings feel cheap

      Best Uses

      • Aquariums or small ponds

I'm using it in a 100gal turtle tank that only has about 55 gallons of water in it. It's being used to feed a pressurized pond filter and works great.

      So Far, So Good!

      By So Cal Guy

      from Redlands, CA

      Pros

      • Affordable
      • Reliable

      Cons

        Best Uses

I have had four of these pumps on continuously for the last 7 months with no problems whatsoever. Still strong, with pretty good capacity for pumping solids. When the filter gets clogged it up takes seconds to remove, clean and reassemble. I plan to buy several more.
