I purchased this motor about 1 year ago to replace a burned out 3 hp motor on an old compressor I had bought back in 1981.
At first, I was leary of this motor having never heard of the manufacturer and not finding anything on-line about it.

The choices for me were to junk the whole compressor, or pay a significant amount of money more than this product from Harbor Freight for other brands of motors that were available.

I decided to give it a try. I did have to fabricate a special bracket to mount it on the compressor but that was only because my compressor had a very wierd system of mounting a motor to the tank.

The shaft size on the HF motor was exact, as stated, to accomodate my old belt pulley. Once I got it mounted and wired up, I applied power to it and it started like a champ and ran the compressor pump for the first time in ages since the original motor had failed.

You will need to determine the rotation of your unit you are replacing ... but no fear ... this motor can be wired for CW or CCW shaft rotation.

So far, about 11-12 months later, with moderate use, it is still working perfectly! I saved a ton of $$$ and was able to breath new life into an aging but still useful compressor. It seems to be an alright product with significant savings to the buyer.

so far the motor has worked well. It has seemed that I am continuously using the lowest gear on my machine. Just figured out that when I upgraded in size I also doubled my rpm. the 3 hp runs at 3450 most others run at 1750
