I did a set of upper Jeep ball joints with this tool. After the first ball joint removed the tool was VERY bent out of shape. I'd almost call it a throw away once you've finished the job. The C clamp is not strong enough. I did lub the thread before use and a hammer to "help" remove the pressed in ball joint, but the tool bends easy in my opinion. Can't complain too much over the price but at least the job is completed

Comments about U.S. General 3-in-1 Ball Joint/U-Joint/C-Frame Press Service Kit:

Spent 3 days with PB Blaster, Hammer w/drift, applying heat, even bent 3 6" heavy duty c-clamps to get the front left u-joint off my inner axle (note- while still under truck, didn't want to tackle dissambley of the pumpkin on my 96 F250 4x4. Today I went to HF and bought this tool and had the u-joint out within about 10 minets and back in within an hour -beer break included- with no problem. Having only used it once, it well paid for itself with no problems.

Comments about U.S. General 3-in-1 Ball Joint/U-Joint/C-Frame Press Service Kit:

I am kinda shocked that an I beam of this heft bends as easily as it does. I put it into a press and straightened it to finish the last ball joint. They are either using the wrong steel or the wrong heat treatment for this thing though.

Comments about U.S. General 3-in-1 Ball Joint/U-Joint/C-Frame Press Service Kit:

I popped a u-joint out of a drive shaft that was rusted together tight and 120,000 miles out of the factory. I gave it everything it had with a 50" pipe for a breaker bar. When I heard the first pop, I thought the clamp broke...nope, it was just that nasty u-joint popping free.

Comments about U.S. General 3-in-1 Ball Joint/U-Joint/C-Frame Press Service Kit:

Used this tool twice and it was so strong it blew the u joint bearing caps apart twice. The 3rd time i used it,the c-frame bent about a quarter of an inch and now its pretty useless.Cant use it after the frame bends since it wont drive the bearing caps in straight any longer and it puts it in a heck of a bind.I also always kept my puller lubed.Best to get a shop press instead.

Comments about U.S. General 3-in-1 Ball Joint/U-Joint/C-Frame Press Service Kit:

i bought this set to do ball joints on a ford expidition. it worked great. i cant complain for the price i paid. i have used it about a dozen times since then only on ball joints (mostly ford f250's) the c-frame is now bent a little but it is still usable. i always keep the threads greased & always lube the new joints (instead of pressing them in dry) i will hopefully get it warranteed for a replacement unit.

Worked fine for me!

Comments about U.S. General 3-in-1 Ball Joint/U-Joint/C-Frame Press Service Kit:

I used this tool this weekend to replace the pivot bushings in a 1986 F-250. This is not an easy task on a good day. Using this tool saved me an hour per side labor time. Didnt have any of the trouble other users seem to be having. I really hammered on this with my impact wrench full power at 150 psi. No trouble. I did oil the threads before I used it. This tool paid for itself on the first job.
