Living in S. Florida, I have always purchased WeatherTech side window deflectors so I can leave my windows cracked to help keep car cooler. These deflectors insert into the molding (where the side windows insert when window is rolled up). I apply this black silicone to the "outer" lip of the window deflectors, install into rubber molding and then close the windows for a day or two to let the silicone set. I have done this with my last 4 suv's....and I give my cars to family members after they hit 100k miles....so I can attest to the longevity of the silicone (and the weathertech window deflectors).

I had bought this stuff while on sale at HF one time. I use a fair amount of RTV for automotive projects and typically use "Ultra Black" as my go-to silicone. Since I started using this stuff though I've pretty much stuck with it. It works just the same and is quite a bit cheaper than the other one. I can't really see much difference in how it applies or sets up and it's sealing ability is just perfect. Never had a leak when I've used it. Just recently used it with a difficult to remove oil pan. Had to work the pan into place with both hands and had no extra hand to ensure the gasket was seating right. No problem, a thin layer of this stuff to "stick" the gasket and all went smoothly.

I used it to re-secure the straps of a computer bag, in addition to mechanical securing. So far, so good.

Better temperature range and flexibility then Loctite 5910. $5 versus $20 with Loctite. Worked perfectly for a seadoo sport boat supercharger housing sealer, gasket. Plenty of drying time, no rush to get it all together before its to late.

I use this like I used to use "Shoe Goo"r, - with better results over All, to this date and time, with this fine product, "Tho, Shoe Goo does have It's place" - I was just thinking etc, etc, etc.

A little hard to squeeze out of the tube when using the nozzle and only a small opening. No provision to seal the end of the nozzle so I used my own round toothpick. It did dry solid and stick just like the name brand silicone. For $2 on sale I'll give it a try.
