Have used this pump for about 5 yrs and finally this year (2012) I replaced the Pressure Switch. Good buy. I water my garden, plus flowers n shrubs as we have had abnormally dry conditions for 3-4 years, thankfully 2012 is about normal here in coastal North Carolina.

COTTAGE PUMP FROM LAKE. NEEDS SEPARATE PRIMER PUMP TO GET IT STARTED AND A GOOD FOOT VALVE. MUST BE THROUGHLY DRAINED OVER THE WINTER. GREAT PUMP WHEN PROPERLY SET UP.

We've used this pump daily for three months in record heat and drought without one problem. Set it up to run on a digital timer 45 minutes every day and I couldn't be happier my tall fescue lawn is a beautiful shade of green while all of my neighbors turned brown.Very easy to setup also

It's cheap and works good for about a year or so. It seems the switch mech always goes on it. You get what you pay for, but it's so cheap to replace so it doesn't really matter. I tried this pump and also the 1hp pump with stainless steel housing. They both lasted the same amount of time.

I purchased this product after going thru 2 ea. 1 HP 1" SS Pump System. The 1 HP pumps only lasted +/- 2 yrs., and was not used daily, only approx. 300 hours per year. Application is to supply potable water from a 600 gal. storage tank, when city water is not available due to system failure, or after storms. Purchased this one as a substitute, thinking it would last longer; I was wrong. Pump failed after +/- 150 hours of use. Have checked electrical installation and plumbing (size, valves, check valves, etc.) to make sure it is hooked correctly, and it is. Too cheap to repair, plus parts are a pain to get from HF. If you need it for temporary use, it is fine and being inexpensive you can throw away when it fails.

I bought this during winter time while perusing the online catalog for bargains. This seemed like the exact perfect item....good price, offered what I needed, all the specs were great. The only problem was when I was able to use this pump, several months from date of purchase the moter never did spin up. Inside the caps that protected the inlet and outlet fittings it seemed rusted on the interior. I followed all documentation/priming procedures but this motor is seized up/rusted shut and will not function. Unable to contact HF by phone....."they are experiencing high call volumes"....whatever.....don't bother with placing much hope on a "bargain". Buyer beware!

internal parts are not stainless, main bolt for pump wheel to shaft rusted out, have to drill and tap it in attempt to fix. Braided hose broke will have to build an new one (if possible) the motor still works thats about all I can say good about it. Of course it is pretty impossible to get parts for Central anything from HF. Consider anything you buy from HF to be disposible. If that doesn't work for you then buy it somewhere else.

had this pump for 2 days when it started spraying water all over the place when it turned on just to be told by hf that i will have to let it flood my garage for a week and a half before they can get me another one would be worth the cost to get it somewhere that can replace it.

The braided hose on this broke within one year. Where do you buy one. Without it this unit is junk. No thanks

I bought this water pump at a really good price. I figured one day my original water pump would quit and I would need one and it did so I picked up all the fittings I would need to hook up this pump and after all the running around and time spent hooking up I cut it on and to my amazement it leaked around the main braided line from tank to pump where it had been pressed together.It had been 5 years since I bought it before I had to use it so I didn't bother Harbor Freight with a complaint.I just unhooked it and set it aside.Had to buy another pump.My mistake thinking that it would be fine when I had to use it.Nothing was great about this product at all.
