Remove the head and put better grease in the gears. When I opened mine there was grease in it but not on the gears. Would have caused a heat issue and possibly burned out had I not checked.

Recommended only if on sale.

I bought mine eight months ago or so and used it occasionally to grind and cut metal, grind cement and cut and grind brick. It worked good at first, and then I started using it to lightly remove paint from brick with a flap disk for longer periods of time, at which point it died.

This was very light work for an angle grinder, under a very light load, but it didn't like being used for more than two hours per day. A look inside showed me that the switch had failed and one of the brushes had fallen into the motor, both because this grinder is made of cheaper plastic than a Star Wars toy.

If you want a cheap grinder for one small job or occasional use, then this might work for you

Not as good as the Chicago Electric

Comments about Drill Master 4-1/2" Angle Grinder:

I used this product for light cutting on a few occasions, then to cut saltillo tile. It quit in the middle of the light cutting job. Had to take the machine apart to get to the brushes---for which no spares were provided. I reversed the brushes to get it to work, again. It shouldn't have worn the brushes with so little use. The Chicago Electric brand works better, longer, brushes can be changed easily with spares that are provided.

Comments about Drill Master 4-1/2" Angle Grinder:

The grinder worked ok for sharpening lawnmower blades. I used it to grind down welds and after about 4 minutes it let out "the magic smoke". Overall for the price it is a decent grinder if you are looking to do very light duty work.

Comments about Drill Master 4-1/2" Angle Grinder:

I had it about 8 months before burning it up. If you only plan to use this to cut items now and then, it's great and will probably last you a good while. I used the wire wheels for removing paint and it couldn't handle sustained use. I'm in the process of buying a more powerful unit. For [$] it was worth it though.

This is the best angle grinder I've ever used, I've been cutting with it for 2 days in a row and its still in perfect condition, But for $10 for 10 cutting wheels, I just wish they were made out of a little bit of a more durable matereal, But this is the best grinder I've ever used and had.

I think this is great for light, occasional use, seems noisy, but that may be normal. I mounted it on a stand to use as a bench grinder on my workbench. It cuts and shapes wood easily and smoothly. I haven't used it on metal.

I have used mine several times and feel if it quit i already have my money from it. It does get very hot and there is some slop in the gear as well as it does not have much power. Bad things aside, i think if you don't bog it down to much and let it cool, it should make it last much longer. I could see how it could be easily overworked and overheated but I guess care needs to be given to let it cool. I have both cut, and ground with ease with this unit. also, the wheels i bought from harbor freight are holding up very well too. So far I'm satisfied with this unit.
