This is a great angle grinder. It fits well in the hand, has enough power to do most tasks, and isn't that noisy. The cost alone lets the average guy buy a couple of them. I did a LOT of welding a while back and bought two. I still have both and have used them a LOT. You can bog them down, but if you understand their limitations, you can get years of use. I highly recommend this grinder and found it to be a much better alternative to the big name company (that makes yellow power tools) paddle grinder that was 3 times as expensive. Great product!!

I received this as a gift and couldn't be more happier with it. Compared to some of the much higher priced name brand models at other stores, this has held its own. The paddle switch is so much nicer then a sliding switch, it also has a safety guard so you can't lay this down and trigger the power accidently when you go to grab it. Unless you release the safety the trigger will not depress and the safety is only a slide of a finger to release it, which you can do as you press the paddle. It takes next to nothing to hold the paddle switch closed, my hand never cramped up, you barely feel the trigger it moves so freely. I recently had a basketball pole cemented along side my driveway that had to come down. When I installed this pole I filled it part way up with cement and installed rebar in the hollow post to reinforce it. Rather then try to break up over 24 inches of rebar enforced concrete with the pole still in the ground, I chose to cut the pole down. I first used a metal grinding/cutoff wheel to cut around the perimeter of the pole. This exposed the concrete which then I replaced the cut off wheel and installed a concrete grinding wheel. I was able to easily grind thru the concrete all the way around until I was able to push over the pole and expose the rebar, which I then was able to cut thru easily and remove the pole. I was able to literally cut the pole flush to the ground. I then ground down any sharp metal smooth to the top of the concrete base. Now when I have to my car can drive right over the top without damage to the tires. I will eventually remove all concrete, but its a lot easier now the pole is gone. The only problem I experienced is after roughly 30 min of use two of the housing screws had worked their way loose. These are what separates the housing from the handle. I removed the wheel and guard to access the screws a little more easily and secured them up tightly. I don't know if they came loose during use or were that way out of the box, either way they have not come loose since. Also after about 30 min of cutting and grinding, the unit never overheated, it got pretty warm but any tool with that much use will also heat up. It never failed nor ever lost power. Granted if I were a contractor and had to use this every day of my life then I would probably have opted for a name brand, however there is no indication this couldn't be used on a daily bases and for the money would probably get this first and see how long it lasted, with the extended warranty you are covered. But for a homeowner that uses it on occasion, this is more then adequate. Throw in the 20% off and its even a better deal.

Bought this for grinding multiple layers of coating/epoxy off the keel of my sailboat. I can honestly say the grinder is a work horse. I used a 40 grit flap wheel on the grinder as well as wire cup brushes and the standard grinding disc. The flap wheel really did the job and brought ithe keel back to base metal (cast iron). I used the grinder over several days and for multiple hours at a time. It had plenty of power and did not let me down at all. Great tool and happy I bought it. It's come in very handy for many other projects too. Plus, the price is right.

Have owned one of these grinders for about 8 years now and uses it several times every week in a industrial setting, some time just for a few minutes up to several hours at a time and it always comes through for me. It's not the strongest grinder that I have ever used but it always gets the job done. I have used it for cutting, grinding(of course), smoothing, forming, and rust removal. Also after looking at prices on the stronger grinders I would deffinatly buy another one if and when this one ever goes bad.

This grinder is noisy, but I've never run a grinder that wasn't noisy. I've been using it almost every day for the last 3 months, sometimes just for a few minutes and as long a couple hours (with sort breaks), and it has never faultered. Runs great everytime I use it. Mostly I use it for cutting/grinding for light fab work, and I use it with a wire wheel for cleaning up rusty split rims. (and that's NOT a cupped wheel just a flat wheel). Anyways if my ginder quit today, I'd order another one today, you just can't beat the quality of this tool for the price.

even came with 2 spare motor brushes for when the installed one wears out. It's noisy, but hey it's a grinder - they're always noisy.

I've cut up to 1/4" thick plate before, and 3/16" spring steel without too much trouble.

Love it. 5 months now no problems, came with ex set of brushes. Real heavy pressure bogs down. But GREAT TOOL FOR HOME! Get warrenty just in case.

One way I judge how hard an electric tool is working is to feel the air coming out of the motor cooling vents. I have run this grinder for several hours, with brief stops to check material removal, and it never seems to break a sweat, unlike me.





I am using it to grind down weld beads and metal clean up prior to welding, and it does the job just fine. I too, like the paddle switch cause I often have my heavy welding gloves on while using the grinder.





Just make sure you use quality grinding wheels so that they will do the work without loading down the tool, and blow it out with compressed air periodically. I also wipe down the outside with alcohol to keep it clean. Take care of your tools, and they will take care of you.





For this price, this thing is a winner. I've only had it a month, but I've worked it hard in that month and it's still going strong. I like that they supply a replacement set of brushes with the tool.

I bought one of these about 7 years ago and it still works great today. Never shown signs of giving up. I use it probably weekly working on cars and doing various welding jobs, so everyday use may be a different story.

I bought this grinder with a masonary cut-off wheel to notch some concrete blocks for my house. After seeing how well it blew right through them, I used it to cut every block needed to finish under my house! I've used it to sharpen lawnmower blades and cut a very heavy duty lock off a door. I have nothing bad to say about this and I'm amazed at the quality for the money.
