I bought this to use on a concrete floor. I know "too small for floor work". I was on a budget, and had a 180 sq ft floor to level off the cracks(as close as possible) and take off the top layer. It worked great, had to use my skills not to leave any marks. Lasted the whole floor and it's still hungry for more. The concrete was poured in the 1950's too.

This is a noisy messy tool. Granted, concrete grinding is always going to be noisy and messy. I didn't find this to be very fast, but it did work. I was grinding on some very hard concrete with river rock aggregate, and it did the job... not fast, but it did the job.
The problem is the dust. THIS WHEEL IS FOR DRY GRINDING ONLY! But it doesn't say that anywhere on the product web page (it does say so on the package). At a local big-box hardware store in my area, they sell a name brand grinder much like this one, but it can also be used for wet grinding. They only charge a little bit more than this HFT version. I had hoped to do wet grinding until I bought this tool and realized I couldn't.
It would have been nice to have the option of wet grinding, and I wish the web page description told me in advance it was dry grinding only.

One tough little wheel!
I bought my house about 11 years ago and all during this time the appearance of the front porched bugged the heck out me because the grey paint that the previous owner had applied had pealed and looked ugly. I knew that it would be a project to get the paint and epoxy off of the cement so I could repaint it. I bought this little wheel and started grinding the epoxy and old paint off of the cement and it was not any easy job but this grinding wheel certainly made it a whole lot easier, the porch was 8'x30' and this little grinding wheel lasted during the whole job.8/13/2016
I would buy this item again. It worked great.
- Easy to use and works great.
I used it to grind thinset off a concrete floor. I worked great. It was a very fast job and I had a 5' x 25' section and took me a 1 1/2 hours to get it up. That's taking a few breaks too.6/30/2016
Had to smooth out some concrete and cinder blocks it did a great job6/22/2016
Fast material removal
Cuts stone quickly and as well as other brand name wheels. Just wish it had a continuous rim which reduces chatter and possible chipping on edges. I expect it to last a good long time.6/13/2016
A serious grinder cup worth every cent.

I've always wanted a stone or brick facade on my house. To install one over my existing concrete blocks I needed to strip off all prior paint. Tried paint stripper at first which removed 2 layers but left behind the initial water blocking sealing paint. Tried a wire brush, that was slow and really not leaving the surface as raw as I wanted. Then I got this 4.5" turbo cup. Wow. Given the reviews, I was expecting good results and not only did it deliver, but went past my expectations. It goes through the paint like it was never there and removes as much of the block as I want. No gumming up from the paint. I was initially concerned about how vicious it would be in it's abrasiveness. It's very controllable to the point where you can remove just paint or rough the surface with minimal effort. I saw other reviews mention using it on wood. That doesn't surprise me. Not sure how it would be with major metal grinding, but i'd bet it could do well though. I've ground well over 150 Sq ft of of wall and this turbo cup shows almost no wear. I'm going to put in a retaining wall next and I'm sure this will be useful. I also ground a few granite and limestone rockfaces with some cool results.
All in all, if you need to grind any sort of masonry/rock, I don't think you can go wrong with this. I've seen some similar cups at other hardware stores for a little more, but none of them have had the same grinding pad layout as this one. I'm thinking this one from harbor freight is probably better/more easily controlled.
If grinding masonry though, I recommend complete goggles that seal off your eyes and a respirator for your nose/mouth. Seriously dusty work. Absolutely everywhere. Not a complaint about the product, just a reality of that kind of work.
I did also use this on a 6 amp 4.5" grinder. I've no complaints about the power, but might be a little much for an underpowered grinder. Just food for thought.5/20/2016
Doing the job well after 200 sq ft

Just what was needed
Great tool! I needed to grind some concrete walkways to get rid of some protruding edges. It worked quickly on my hand held grinder. The walkways are now safe and not a trip hazard. I would have purchased this sooner had I known how well it worked. Thanks!3/29/2016
Worked well, and a good price

Does an excellent job
The blade was perfect for grinding down the mortar left from removing ceramic tile. Used a 7" angle grinder by Chicago Electric. If I used the 7" blade, it was too much for the grinder. Went back to the 4.5" diamond cup blade, I was told you can always go smaller, and it worked fine. Time consuming and quite messy with the talc-like dust, but now the concrete is smoother.
