From what cons I found, I proactively tried to be ready. I got a small tube of clear seal, and a 20' roll of 1" gasket. I found it funny they go to great length to seal the main box but no seals are included for the funnel so be prepared. I used the seal on the funnel door because had I not, there would have been a great leak there because the box doesn't fit we'll and the 4 sides aren't aligned for sealing, the seal fixed this right up. I used my 1" seal between the funnel and main box and after assembly vacuum tested and the this was air tight so no leaking yeah!

One other thing, check your bolts! Mine were missing 4 for the main funnel assembly whilst there were extra of others. I would recommend getting a 90* elbow for the air inlet as they have the port going straight out the side, down or back would have been better, also would have been nicer on the opposite side with the light switch but it can be tolerated

Also you need to use some common sense, the instructions say to put things in that could wait, the screen can go in last and the light holder can go in after you assemble the box, if put in before the brackets get in the way.

The store recommended course walnut but the air gun won't let much through so fine works great. I have ran many of my parts through using a shop vac on the side port and no dust or leaks were present, all worked great.

I have had this setup for 5 years and have only had to replace the tips and film for the glass. They have the film online now under ACCY. Otherwise you have to call in to get the parts so keep your parts manual or download online. I have been doing all powdercoating for 2 motorcycle shops and use the heck out of this rig. I have not had a problem with leaks, assembly, gloves etc. This system works compairable to any others that are 4 times the cost. Also, make sure you have a good compressor and water separation system. I was using a shopvac for exhaust but if you go to HF and pick up one of the dust catcher fans for woodworking you will not be disappointed.

Put it together and started blasting. Take your time with assembly is absolutely necessary if you dont want leaks. Mine is blasting great and has no leaks. I have used mine to rebuild a lawn tractor and it did a great job removing old paint. I did do light wire brushing to remove old rust alhough I did this to primarily save on abrasive material contamination. This is one of the best purchases I have made for my shop. Finding all kinds of uses.

Purchased mine about 8 months ago. Modifications made before using. Changed hardware to bolts washers and locknuts so it will never need adjusting. Installed a 1/2 inch pressurized sand line below air line from a 200lb tank I fabricated. Added 16 gal shop vac to clear dust. Operate at 75psi air 50psi from sand tank. Made platform from 1.5 inch angle iron, welded together so legs of Sandblaster meet inside corners of platform. Dropped blaster into platform and bolted 2 together. Dropped 3/4 plywood on platform. Added 4 bags of Sand 200lbs to bottom to lower center of gravity. Added HFT 6" casters. With my mods this unit works as well as one costing 5 times as much and mine rolls wherever needed. When sand tank empty vacuum blaster out and refill sand tank. This thing is a dream to use. Where safety equipment to operate.

I have been wanting a blasting cabinet for some time now. After spending considerable time on the web looking at this style of cabinet, I read all the reviews that were posted. My concerns were that it would be delivered damaged, or parts would be missing. My other concern was all the previous comments about the leaks that it would have.

. Well I took advantage of the 25 per cent off on Easter Sunday and ordered one. It would have been here the following Monday, however we had a major snowstorm and the delivery was delayed till Wednesday. Not Harbor Freights fault, I live in the middle of nowhere, and the roads were not good to drive on. It arrived with one hole punched in the box, so I brought it in and took all the parts out to see if anything was damaged. I found two of the panels for the lower hopper with a minor bend in them. It was not related to the hole in the carton, and the damage was so minor that all it took to fix was a pliers to bend it straight again.

My wife and I assembled it, and I took the advise of the other reviews I read and ran a bead of silicone on ALL of the seams. I was in no hurry to assemble it, and made sure the silicone had time to cure. Really no problems in the assembly, other than I don't think it is something one could do alone.

Now for the real test, would it work? I took it over to my shop, hooked it up to my compressor, set my regulator to 90psi poured some 80 grit glass beads in and pulled the trigger. I wasn't happy with the flow, so I installed one of the other ceramic nozzles and things improved dramatically. I am very pleased with the results. I have since spent at least ten hours blasting everything and anything I had that needed to be cleaned. Rusty steel, an old wheel hub that was severely rusted, all came out beautiful. I did have a little leakage on two corners, and I learned to pull the siphon tube out of the bottom of the hopper and blow the area around the door so glass media would not spill out when the door is opened. The other comments I would make is the light provided is not nearly bright enough to see once blasting starts, and without having a shop vac hooked up to draw clean air in and dust out, it is nearly impossible to see what is going on inside the cabinet, I put my 300 watt construction lamp inside the cabinet and ran the cord out the fresh air intake. It made all the difference in the world. I can see everything clearly now.

This was my first purchase from Harbor Freight, and overall, I will be looking for other bargains in the future. Thank you Harbor Freight.

After a sale and a percentage off, I got this for a great price. I believe some of the issues of the past have been resolved. The bolts & screws were all very nicely laid out in a package, very easy to follow. The sheet metal they use is very thin and there were some pieces that were bent.. I was able to just use a pair of pliers to straighten. They included a good amount of foam tape to seal the edges, but I also used clear silicone seal as is recommended here. They also included 5 additional plastic films and teflon tape. It took me just under 5 hours to put everything together. The instructions were actually decent when you read them.. they give some tips in there to make it easier.

I read all the comments before assembling mine. Buy a caulking tube of silicone before assembly. Caulk all joints during assembly process. Assembly manual isn't thorough in it's step-by-step process. Read it and formulate your own plan. Tip: Install gloves last. I replaced the light with an outdoor flood light socket. Enlarge the hole in cabinet. Light switch is rated for full power. Add your own cord and cord relief. This also grounds your cabinet when used with a 3-prong cord. Also added a ball shut off valve for the air supply. Took over 5 hours to assemble but well worth it. My cabinet doesn't leak and light modification works well. Well worth the time and money.

I want to thank all of you who, in your comments gave me tips on assembly. I cut all of the foam seals that had been factory applied out and threw them away. I left the seals on the door.

Then I caulked the seams so when I tightened the bolts the caulk squeezed out. The next day I scraped the excess off with my thumbnail. The door wouldn't fit tight so I had to oval the mounting holes on the hinge so it could be adjusted to fit tightly.

So I have learned a few things about this pretty quick. You NEED a good air dryer! I got to get a better one. The dust/mess isn't too bad if you pay attention when you assemble it, and add a bit of silicone in specific spots. It needs some around the window and near the bottom of the pit, mine would have a constant leak of glass beads there.

You cannot use both of the plugs(side and back), you need to vent the air somewhere. I bought some 2" PVC and a few elbows and vented only one side to outdoors. Had to make the hole a bit bigger on one of the elbows to fit, but it works! The glass beads work OK for cleanup of steel, but on aluminum... WOW it looks brand new! My compressor is a 60 gal 11.5cfm @ 90psi from the local box store and it handles it fine, runs alot, but it can keep up with it.

The outermost plastic cover for the window is absolute garbage. The entire thing was covered in scratches, Im planning on replacing it soon because it makes it even harder to see anything

I bought this unit about a year and a half ago, and it has served me well. For what I paid for it, I really can't complain. Yes it's not going to be quite the quality of a US made blast cabinet that will cost you a grand or more, but for my auto restoration project needs so far it works fine. I did have to modify the air inlet a bit, as it initially leaked air, but was easy to remedy. I got it with a 20% sale, so at under $200 how can you go wrong. I would advise the investment in a good Compressor. My original unit could not keep up. I recently bought a 5 HP 60 Gallon 2 Stage Qunicy Compressor, and it works wonders for this cabinet. Oh, and you guys looking for the pink ceramic tips, TP Tools has them.
