Worked great for me
By Bionic Man
from Southern New Jersey
Comments about Central Pneumatic 40 Lb. Pressurized Abrasive Blaster:
This thing worked great for me. I had no problems blasting both sides of a 4 x 4.5 foot sheet of heavily pitted 9/16 plate steel, including a lot of mill scale. It just took some time, which I expected considering the size of the unit. I used play sand sifted through a window screen with a 3mm nozzle. Make sure the sand is BONE dry. My compressor does 10.2cf at 90 psi. and I set the output at 100psi. All blasting was done outside. The only thing is that I wish HF sold 3/32" nozzles for this. That would be the perfect size for my compressor.

not to bad
By brian

most of the time you get what you pay for. i bought a 40lb unit a few months ago. i have ran 12 or so bags of media threw it. it has worked well for me. i have a 60 gallon compressor with a 12 cfm out put running at 90 psi and i have to wait a few min to let the compressor cathch up but works well. when i got my blaster i went a head and got the dead man vale and the hood. i really do like this unit.

Not a bad blaster for the price
By log blaster
from Austin, TX
I took a chance on this blaster after reading mixed reviews. I am redoing the exterior finish on a log home that we moved in to that the previous owner allowed to deteriorate. For most of the home, I have other means of sanding, but the recessed spaces are very difficult to clean old paint and surface deterioration. I had rented a big commercial compressor and sand blaster, but that is a ton of work and cost, as well as making me hurry as I was "on the clock". I hoped this blaster would allow me to work on the small projects on my own time. I am using the fine grind walnut media. So far, it is doing the job. It is a pain to adjust, and the tip clogs frequently, but it is pretty easy to unclog by taking off the tip and reversing it to blow the tip out. The line clogs easily as well. I finally figured out to open up the air line halfway, the nozzle valve with the tip all the way, then use the media valve on the bottom of the tank to adjust, slowly opening up til the flow was right. Once I got the hang of it, it worked great. It does use a lot of media, but I think all blasters do. I just lined up my area and stayed on it til the tank runs out, then refill. My 5.5 CFM compressor kept up pretty well. Despite the small hassles, it is doing what I need it to do and at my own pace.

Does The Job But.....
By Medic106
from Pennsylvania
I purchased this sand blaster for a specific project restoring an old radio tower. Had all sorts of problems trying to get it to work with the irregularly shaped media. Even machined my own tip with a larger bore diameter. After 2-3 hours ended up purchasing round glass beads and now the unit works OK. The unit will only work with round glass beads; don't even think of trying any other media.
clogged....cloged...cloggged

About Me Professional
came pre assembled with the handles on backwards, will blast fine for all of 20 to 30 seconds then clogs, clogs, clogs bought it to remove rust on the underside of a 1966 ford t bird hood, i will just use a wire brush and acid and i have a small hand held unit that works , it just runs out quick, the hooper is over the gun and it never clogs as gravity pushes out the media
clogs more then you blast
from ma
clogs more then it blasts, I have run the 70 grit sand harbor freight sells and it clogged about every 3-4 lbs it would push though it. so i tried play sand same result. I even then tried to use my pasta strainer to get any bigger pieces out before filling but still clogged. I spent more time unclogging it then i did sandblasting.have 2 mositure filters inline before this unit so i know its not that is my problem. has cheap ball valves.when not clogged it worked well
Very Very Slow
By Would like to get something accomplished
from Oregon
Sand blaster seemed to have great reviews, aside from clogging. Using 70 grit I have not had that issue however this sand blaster is so slow I thought about taking a nap while holding the nozzle in place. I purchased it in hopes that it would help me with the restoration on my 80 Chevy pick-up but it does not even make a dent in the paint. Sadly disappointed with the blaster. I also have a very large shop compressor so sadly the air push was not an issue

I would not buy this product again!
By Harlan
from WI
I rebuild old Sears Roebuck and Delta power tools, for years I used SKU 37025 with great results I broke the tip so I decided to try this one, very dispointed. Not worth the money even though it's cheap. clogs often, used it for about 3 hours and have to replace the abrasive discharge valve and the 3/8 shut off valve. waste media even after learning how to set valves. To late for me to return this one, but I wouldn't buy it again. I would buy the cheaper one SKU37025 anyday!
