Maintanence is based on hours of service, so add an electric hourmeter. I was using a sheet of paper in a plastic bag zip loc'd to the frame. Caveman but better then nothing. For about $18 pick up a 120/250V AC hourmeter. I mounted it on the upper right hand flange of the outlet panel because the AC outlets were on that end. Access the inside of the panel. One colored and one white wire from the meter. Hook colored to one side of an outlet and white to the other side and you're good to go. I plugged it into a wall outlet first to put the estimated 7 hours of use on the meter before installing on the genset. Now you'll know the actual hours of use.

Good product so-far, hooked it up, and ran my whole house on it, I mean ran everything,well,heater,lights, frig. Time will tell how good it is. Great price,you wouldn't find another Generator out there that does the same-thing for the price. Looking forward to the power going out.

Purchased this generator prior to Hurricane Sandy as a precaution. Worth its weight in gold once we lost power Monday night. We didn't patch it to the panel, but we ran everything in the house off it, including the heat, refrigerator, microwave, computers, internet, space heaters for the neighbors, and anything else we wanted and it asked for more. Not only would I recommend this generator to others, but I already have and several have purchased it throughout this storm. The only downfall is that it's fairly loud, but that's just a byproduct of powering your house off a generator. We ran it for 4 days straight without turning it off, then turned it off for 5 minutes to change the oil as a precaution. Started right back up and ran another day without any issues whatsoever. Filled the tank while running (probably not the best idea, but we didn't turn it off once except for the oil change) and it used about 5 gallons every 10 hours. Not too shabby to run an entire house. Love this thing. Now, where can I get a cover for it while it's not being used?

you cant beat how good it runs you can use a 4 weeler batt or quad batt but pull start is just fine

lost power 1o days ago in south jersey. power was out 5 days for me.this unit was hard wired into the house powered everything including central air. unit was shut off only to fuel. it ran no stop without a problem.

I was floored when I found out I could get this for $200.00 off the listed price so I made sure I got the extended warranty for 2 years for $79.00. Out the door price after CT 6.35% tax was [$]. I got it home and unboxed it. It doesn't come with OIL so pick up some 10W30 on your way home. Once I got it ready to be started, I pulled the rip cord once and it started right up. I powered up my power saw with it as a test and it worked without a hickup. I couldn't find anywhere in the manul where the old drain plug is but no biggy, I'll figure it out.

I am very pleased with this generator. I opted for the electric start in case I was not home my wife could start it. There was nothing to do but put oil and gas in it. Several note worthy things.

1. It was shipped with the choke on and I believe they all are. Just fyi.
2. It holds 1 quart of oil. That is not listed in the manual or ANYWHERE! I am running Mobile 1 FULL synthetic 10w-30. I changed oil after 3 hours of use and will change again at 20 hours.
3. Do NOT start or kill engine with any devices plugged in. It will(can) ruin the devise and the generator.
4. You are suppose to let engine run 5 minutes before running any devises.

This thing weighs a TON!! I am a big guy and I can not even think about budging this thing by myself. I did not purchase the wheel kit but will make something for it myself . Still thinking on design.

This is my first generator to own so I can't really compare it to anything else. But I have lots of motorized tools/toys and I am very satisfied with the quality. I plan on running this 1 hour per month to keep the motor in use all year round. If this is taken care of then I believe it will last for many years to come, time will tell.

It was a little slow to start at first. But after a few weeks starts became easier. Battery was [$] at [@]. Sticks out just a bit but lots of power.

Battery is available at Advanced Auto Parts. It's a 9 amp motorcycle battery, about $50. Get the measurements from battery slot on gen. Works & fits perfect. Also should be avail. at any place that sells motorcycle parts.
