I bought this several months ago when it was on sale and used it for the first time this past weekend to find the studs in my bathroom wall in order to install a grab bar. Let me start by saying that it does take some patience and finese getting it adjusted to pick up the studs. Once adjusted though, it works. I marked and drilled where it buzzed, and it was right on. I didn't use the voltage or metal finder, so I can't speak for that portion. The LED light on the end is a nice addition. If you're a professional, you'd probably want something better. If you're just a person who needs to do some things around the house like me, then this should be ok for you.

The stud finder portion of this device does not work at all. The metal detector and voltage dectector portion does work. In order to find a stud, I had to use the metal detection portion to find a stud by locating the nails holding the drywall to the stud.

This product is very hard to use. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn‰Ûªt. I have an older stud finder which I‰Ûªm glad that I kept so I can still find my studs. I'm going to return this stud finder promptly.

What a piece of trash. It does not work properly through sheet rock. If I still had the packaging I would return it because it does not work.

Put in a new battery and I tried using this for both wood and metal. I got plenty of false readings and drilled small holes to prove it. Ended up using good ole magnets and hit my marks on the walls with no issues.

I might have successfully found a stud once, but almost never when I actually need it. Electrical tester seems to work sometimes, although occasionally decides an entire wall is energized. Metal detector can work when it's not being drowned out by the electrical one going off randomly.

Fortunately, as usual for HF, it was so cheap I wasn't very upset this one didn't work out.
