This is essentially a Graco Magnum X5 knockoff. It works extremely well. I'm actually a little surprised how well it works. But here's the deal. Unless you are just spraying primer, or don't necessarily care about the finished work, you need to get rid of the tip that comes with this unit. It is a 517. That tip is WAY too big for this little machine. If you are spraying latex, don't go any higher than a 415. The machine cannot keep up with a 517 tip. It's really a shame they included that tip. The Graco RAC IV or RAC 5 tips fit this unit. Head on over to Homedepot, (or wherever) and pick up a new GRACO tip.

That being said, I love this little machine. It's perfect for the "weekend warrior", or occasional job.

I used this with some very thick Valspar Ultra paint to repaint a large shed. Definitely takes some practice but much faster than brushing. I was spraying this very heavy thick paint without thinning and was only using the lowest spray pressure setting. I especially like the fact that the sprayer draws the paint directly from the can rather than using a bin that you pour the paint into because you don't have to clean up the empty can.

I was a little mental and lost the tip after opening this thing... The beauty was able to run down to my local hardware store and grab another. It fit and worked PERFECTLY.

I bought one of those do it yourself Wagner sprayers a couple of years ago. You know, the kind that you pour the paint in the top and then spray it out... Yeah, not surprised you don;t remember, the thing was a total pile of junk. It worked once, and then it never worked again.

I ended up getting this one on sale, and applied one of those magical coupons to it. Wow, is all I can say. First the instructions are actually understandable. That, in and of itself, is a major improvement over the "old days". Second it went together flawlessly. Finally, it worked without a single issue.

I watched a few online videos on how to use an airless, and I told a friend I knew exactly what I was doing... Aside from the few spots on the garage door,(never start on the garage door) that had runs,(I blamed them on the heat and told him it "melted" the paint, and he believed me, so I am good) the paint job looked AWESOME. He was stoked at the good deal he got on a paint job, and I looked like a champ.

I won't hesitate to throw myself at another paint job after this one. It is worth every penny.

This sprayer really worked well. I painted a whole bi-level in under 2 hrs. It sprayed 5 gal of exterior paint (not thinned) right out of the can nicely, and the pressure was only set at @ 1/2. It primed quickly, and flushed out in @ 10 min. after I was finished. It's easy to clean up and has worked great for me for several projects. The key is to be fussy about cleanup (like with any sprayer).

4500 square foot 2 story building in 7 hours !! what a great product.Easy to use and clean ( don"t forget the gun filter in the handle,the ends screw off for easy clean) Uses graco spray tips. 6-19 for fast application. Looked at other"s but price was a factor. When the specs were the same I bought this one and was not disapointed. ten years ago 5 days with a roller to do the same job. I took a 18 x 24 piece of plastic cut a hole in it and put sprayer on top of 5 gallon bucket,no hose length problem.Easy to clean just take your time and break it down as per instructions. Thank you Krause & Becker & Harbor Freight for a great product at a great price.

My 10 year old sprayer died in the middle of a big house repaint job, and I didn't really want to spend $400 at [@] for a low end Graco, so I decided to give this one a try. At [$] on sale, less 20%, I didn't expect much and was just hoping to get the house done. That said, I have to say I'm impressed with this tool. It's better than my old spray unit where it counts - in power and adjustability - and I'm using about 20% less paint with this sprayer to get the same coverage as my old unit, too. As others have mentioned, its a hassle to paint from 5 gallon pails due to the stand design, and the included 25' hose is way too short. I swapped out my 100' hose from my dead sprayer and the new one didn't hesitate a bit even with the longer hose. Worth the money all day long.

Pros: I have owned this unit for 2 weeks. It's works really well. It's easy to use after you get used to the setup and how to prime the system. I used it with paint thined out 2 parts paint to 1 part water. I'm sure it would work well with paint as purchased. The instructions don't say anything about how thin the paint should be. There are separate instructions for the spray head. The system cleaned up nicely by just running water thru the sprayer and the primer (water based paint).
Cons: The hose is a bit stiff and difficult to deal with. Once straightened out it was not an issue. I'm assuming it has to be that way considering the pressures involved. It comes with a replacement nozzle washer but doesn't tell you what it's for. Don't loose it. It also comes with a cup, allen head screw and wrench that is not mentioned in the assembly instructions. It screws into the tubular stand and is there to put the paint pickup in when it's not in the paint. You have to unscrew it to clean it.
The final con is that it uses paint very quickly. Don't know if it's just my inexperiance or not. I'll work with it to see how to conserve paint but still cover.
Overall: A great painter for the price. It uses alot of paint but that may be a learning curve item. Instructions are a bit weak in some areas. I'd like HF to offer the paint roller attachment as a separate purchase.

The fit and finish on this sprayer is excellent. The castings and moldings are clean. I was impressed with the appearance and feel of the product.

I used it for the exterior painting of a house. At first when I plugged it in, the motor ran for a few seconds and stopped. I thought it was broken, but that was just the pressure switch cutting out. It sounds like a sewing machine, and the motor only runs for a few seconds at a time unless you've lost prime.

The results were fantastic. Like any paint spraying, 90% of the time is in preparation and masking. Once that's done, you can really fly with this machine. It's as simple and easy as I could have hoped for. Overspray was minimal. With a little practice, you can easily work with surfaces masked off with 2" tape.

The only downsides are that the stand and hose set up don't really work well with 5 gal. buckets. They would have hit a home run with a little piece of plastic that would fit on a 5 gal bucket and allow the sprayed to sit on top of the bucket. As it is, the sprayed wants to slide off, and when you tug on the hose and the unit moves off of the bucket, it loses prime and can make a mess.

The second downside is that you have to be very careful that the nut which secures the nozzle is tightened. If you want to rotate the nozzle to adjust the fan from horizontal to vertical, this nut can come loose. If it is loose, when you pull the trigger the paint will be directed back in your face at high pressure. You certainly want to be wearing safety glasses when you use this machine.

The third downside is that this machine is time-consuming to clean. The spray gun itself is a challenge to take apart. The instruction manual shows the use of a large crescent wrench to remove a large nut on the handle. In fact, I think you need to use a small wrench turning against an allen wrench to remove a very small nut which affixes the handguard to the handle.

Overall, I was very pleased with the performance of this unit. For outside work, excellent results are achieved with minimal effort.
