I use this buffer is conjunction with paper sharpening wheels paperwheels.com and it makes an almost perfect combination to rapidly sharpen a knife to a shaving edge.

I'm polishing stainless trim thats been repair and progessively filed and sanded with 240,320,400,600,1500 after this point it doesn't take to much red rouge on the wheel to make a good white metal shine, the wheels are out far enough for good clearance but with leather gloves on I can still rest the back of my hand on the motor as a steady guide. really beats trying to use a bench grinder with buffing wheels (no clearance for odd shapes ) bought the four leg stand too for really good clearance for long pieces, I had to drill the stand to mount the buffer it had holes but they were in the wrong spot. I like it and my finishes are coming out better.

I make copper tiles and have used mine to polish hundreds of tiles. It's so reliable I don't even think about it. Accidentally left it in the weather once while I was out of town, dried it off and is still running like a champ.

This thing runs smooth and quite! Has plenty of power and speed. I seen some complain that the pads are cheap but mine seem fine, I'm using the heck out of it and they are holding up just fine. Another happy purchase from HF

I own four and use them in a high output metal fabrication shop. The oldest has had who knows how many hours of use as it is used daily for 8 years. All have 6 inch arbor extensions added. Only problem is i had to weld the base onto the oldest one after approx 6 years of heavy useage. Not much of a con there considering hours used. Baldor motors are very pricey and these machines run just as good and do the job. I have one extra sitting in a box I bought simply because it was on sale. Been sitting there 4 years cause they just keep running.

The unit is very quiet and smooth as others have mentioned. The buffer pads that come with it work well. I purchased an extra 6" buffer pad from HFT but the whole is way to big for the buffer shaft and immediately flies off-center. Hopefully I can find replacement pads that fit, otherwise this becomes a use-once tool.

This thing is awesome! For the price you just can't beat it. Power is good and machine is fairly quiet. As some others have said the wheels that come with it are a little cheesy but work pretty good. I have polished a couple knives with it and not one complaint. If I had a need for it I would buy another. Very happy with this buffer.

After 6months of use it still performs excellent. I managed to polish all of my parts on my motorcyle and atv. I did put a deburr wheel on one side and still has the power and speed to do its job. It does manage to get hot but I use the hell out of it. It lacks some power when pressure is appiled but again its not a bench grinder. Everything is solid and intact. I have no regrets with this buy and would reccommend to any avid do it yourselfer.
