6" Composite Orbital Air Sander

This thing is great!!! It's cheap and handled 7 hours of straight sanding right out of the box!!!!! Used it to sand orange peel then refinish and still going strong. The "Speed Regulaor" is a joke but if you work with the right sand paper it's no big deal. You can buy a 3M hookit pad and use 3M paper with no hickups. It takes a good compressor to run it so make sure you have that otherwise you will be very dissappointed. I'm taliing at least 60 gallons!!

I used this for several hours so far doing some pretty extensive body work. Seems to be holding up. It is light and easy to use, but would actually prefer more metal. Worked OK with my oiless 15 gallon compressor, but was impressed much more when I hooked it up to the 30 gallon compressor (thanks Mrs. Santa). Gave it that extra push at the same PSI...

I purchased this sander because my 6yr old Dynabrade sander finally died in the middle of a job. Right out of the box the sander leaked air all around and would run by it's self. After about an hour into the job the sander started started to get weak. The spindle that holds the pad into the housing/motor had broke loose allowing the pad to move in and out approx 1 inch.


About a week later I attempted to exchange it for another one hoping I had got a bad egg. Even though I purchased the extended warranty and had the original sales receipt, I was turned down for a replacement because I did not keep the box or the poor air regulator the sander came with.





However, despite it's major air leaks, random automatic running, and pad movement it did do the job I wanted and it still works to this day. Overall the sander is a nice, light weight design and has potential to be good if quality control did their job. But I don't see it ever being professional quality.

I have owned this tool for less than 60 days and it is dead. The bearing is cheap and has some wobble and I am sure it would not last forever, but the death of this DA sander it due to the air inlet collar. The inlet where your hose fitting attaches is made of metal but screws into the composite body. The body has stripped out rendering the tool useless.
