Update on my 1st review of these drill bits,they work just as well on glass and mirrors.I had a big mirror that I have been wanting to hang on the wall just hadn't figured out how I was going to do it,well here's the solution.I drilled four holes with the 1/4" bit and added rubber grommets to the holes and hung it up,simple as sin Vern.

Instead of going for the known name I went with these and glad I did.These bits are sharp pointed,so to drill a hole in ceramic tile,first mark spot then press hard with sharp point of bit and you will hear the glaze crack so then you have a dimple to keep the bit from wandering.Then just go slow,I mean real slow.I had a spray bottle filled with water to cool the bit but it was not needed because you will be thru the tile in no time flat.I was going to go elsewhere and spend 3 times the money but glad I didn't now because these bits worked excellent for my purpose plus I got 6 bit's instead of 4 as advertised elsewhere for a whole lot less.In my case,less was more.

The first review said the bit got too hot. Duh! Use a water bed when drilling. Go slow.

The first hole in fairly thin wall tile went fine. Didn't take too much effort, didn't crack the tile, didn't get exceptionally hot. Did just what it was suppose to do. The 2nd attempt was extremely slow, even after applying a great deal of pressure. Stopped a few times to cool the bit, but the last time I guess I went too long because the bit was glowing red. Amazing to look at, but imagine if that bit made it through & hit a stud? That pretty much ended the bit, but I still have 4 more holes to drill. Be careful when using one of these as they create so high a temp that ALL metal parts of the drill are very hot - heat transferance.
