I own two of these saws. One I use for cutting wood, and the other I use for cutting steel.

For cutting steel I replaced the blade with a Bosch metal cutting blade and it works great. I cut 1/4" steel plate no problem, although I do stop and let the saw cool down every couple of feet. I tried the orange Metal Cutting Saw that Harbor Freight sells before going with the worm drive. The orange saw was just too cumbersome with the direct-drive motor, and all of the shielding makes it hard to see the blade and line you are cutting. Just make sure you are wearing lots of protective gear when cutting steel as the chips really fly!

The only thing I'm not thrilled about is the weight.
At 17 lbs, it takes some getting used to.
The ability of this saw to cut at angles up to 45 degrees is a plus, along with the ability to actually see where the blade is cutting.
Ya don't have to look over the right side of the saw to cut along your lines.
It's got plenty of torque which makes cutting a breeze. I like that it comes with blade wrench and spare motor brushes.
Seems like it'll last a while.
