After reading many reviews Pro & Cons I decided to buy last week, my real/only concern was if my Crafts*** 1.1HP 17 gallon air compressor was strong enough with 3.3 CFM. Well it was it spun a lug nut off my truck in less than 3 seconds at 140 foot pounds of torque! I use to use a T-wrench to take off tires when doing my own repairs at home, not anymore! Love this tool just make sure your compressor is big enough to handle, if it's not the tool won't work or have enough power. This Earth Quake air impact tool calls for a 4.7 cfm but if your compressor puts out 3+ cfm your good to go. Hope this helps.

Superb power in a small package. Will easily do 150 ft-lb. Not sure about the 300 discussed in the ad copy but it is very powerful for a 3/8" impact. Very highly recommended.

I use this impact almost daily in a diesel shop and love the heck out of it. One of the mechanics in the shop scoffed at it and didnt think it would come even close to his IR that cost 4X more and is rated at the same ft lbs. This little guy zipped off a bolt I had torqued to 230 ft lbs and then tightened with a 3/4 breaker bar as much as I could, without hesitation. The IR did the same but struggled a little more and took a little longer to break it loose. The people that have problems with the earthquake impacts are running on way too small of compressors. Just because you have 90 psi does not mean you have enough air flow. Cfm is very important and you would have the same results with an IR without it. You must have a compressor that runs at least twice the CFM of the tool to get the full effect and is 30 plus gallon. Please know what your doing before writing negative reveiws about prouducts that say right on the box what size compressor it will work with.

Matco,Snapon,Mac,are brands that are owned by the shop employees where I work. When I brought it in the guys at work saw it and said "When it comes to air tools do not get a Harbor Freight brand cause the have noo power at all. You get what you buy." One of the guys wanted to do a test to see what this so called earthquake can do. A bet was made that he would crank down a bolt with his 3/8 SnapOn until the bolt wouldn't move and see if the earthquake can remove it. He crank the bolt down and now it was my turn. Now I was skeptical until I spun the bolt off in a second! Wow that's a bad little gun. Next day three others bought one! I use it for engine work,front end,transmission removal(great for bell housing bolt)list goes on. Go get one you will not be sorry!

Great impact gun! Affordable, strong, well built, looks great, and met all my needs. You can't go wrong with this thing. I needed a impact for those tight area's where I couldn't get my other impact to fit. This thing is great!

I work for a chrysler dealership and use this gun all the time and it absolutely does everything a 3/8 impact should do and more. If youre complaining about it not being strong theres a good chance youre not using a big enough compressor. If youre taking lugs off with a 3/8 gun perhaps try a 1/2 like a normal human being... but then again ive tried this gun out on lugs out of curiousity and never had a problem. all i can say is it takes off the rusty frozen bolts that hold the sway bar onto the rear control arms of a jeep liberty, which because of a recall ive had to do about 200 times, without a problem... theres no beating this gun i have had it since my girlfriend got it for me last christmas and use it regularly at work with 0 problems

This thing is pretty powerfull. Its not too noisy, its alot quieter than my earthquake 1/2(the older model). It CAN take off MOST lug nuts, not all, mainly on cars it has no problem on, unless i get one that this guy in my shop thinks you need to nearly snap the bolt to be tight. Its not to heavy, but is not the lightest of the 3/8 impacts. But just with anything, have the right air pressure, enough volume of air, and oil daily and it will work great. both this impact and my 1/2 one seems to have less power when i use it on my home compressor. but I thinks its because my lines are not as big as the onse at work and can't deliver the volume of air needed, the pressures their, but i have to use a really long air hose to get to were i need to work and i belive thats why its not as powerfull at home.

This is a great Impact. It scares me sometimes in Rev. because theres no setting in rev but 1. and it is hight speed and high torque and the bolts go flying, and if you use a swivel "watch out knuckles". Remember you need the right air compressor. I use a 300 Gal. some guys that say this tool doesnt have any power, maybe its not the tool but the compressor.
