Obviously it's a neat lantern. The 120v/12v/solar charging is great, It's worth the sale price of [$] for sure. My only complaint is that it's just not as bright as comparable lanterns that I've seen at the "big box" stores. The Coleman LED lanterns are much brighter. Like I said it's worth [$] but not much more IMO.

I bought mine in the Saginaw,Michigan store. I can't seem to find it there now. I suggest you get them back to the stores as they are very useful. I have never charged it. It has always been charged as I keep it by the window in the trailer. I grab it first thing at night looking for a light. Can't remember actually how long I've had it. The handle broke off but other than that it has held up pretty well. I love that I never have to charge it or change the batteries. It is very handy and I just leave it with my trailer for convenience. I am always telling people about them and where I got the lantern but haven't seen them in a while.

Used it for the first time when the power went out. I like the adjustable setting. We used it as a dim night light.

First off, it's hard to believe this type of item isn't available anywhere else. The combination of solar charging, rechargeable batteries, and high-efficiency LED lighting just makes too much sense, yet this is one of the only places that you can find this combo and at a great price too.





The unit includes an home AC adapter and a 12V car cigarette lighter cord for charging it up at home or in your car and you can also charge from the sun when you're completely away. The home and car chargers fit in the compartment at the bottom and are easily accessed by unscrewing the bottom lid. They add some needed weight to keep the unit stable.





The solar panels are up top and if you open that up, you'll find the AA NiCad rechargeable batteries. It's good that they used standard sized batteries because if they wear out or you want to upgrade to higher capacity batteries, you can just swap them out easily.





There is a rotating power/dimmer switch (like an old transistor radio volume knob) and the LED array in a cylinder in the middle.





The lantern puts out a decent amount of light, definitely good enough to see where you are going around a campsite or find items inside a tent. The propane lanterns are still much brighter than this one, but it bothers me to burn fuel and add CO2 to the atmosphere just to provide light.





My only complaints about the item are the flimsyness of the handle on top. One of mine got broken by a teenager on its first night out. The second is the rubber bottom cap is not held on tightly at all so it just comes off when you pick up the unit. I gave up on using the rubber bottoms.





Overall, great, useful item with decent build quality.

Took this lantern camping and was very impressed with the light and the re-charging with the sun! It lit up our little (so-called) wagon circle of tents. Provided the right amount of light to see around camp. A MUST HAVE! for any power outages! It has well paid for itself verse battery operated lanterns or flashlights. Solar or DC lighter or AC wall charging! WELL WORTH the purchase! I plan on getting about 3 more.





I do plan on painting the underneath of the top piece silver to add more light reflection. Not needed, but I like to improve on items. You won't be disappointed with this lantern, also when I first purchased this lantern, I turned it on (after a charge) and went to sleep woke up the next day and it was still running good. It did lose a little bit of light output, but it proved to be a good all night light.
