For those who are having difficulty with the 3/16 moving is because you're reading it wrong. The way the measurments are casted can confuse people. 3/16 is the smallest hole but the casting has 5/8 above it so most likely you're putting your 3/16 line in the 5/16 slot. Look real good at the tool and you will see.

I am a trained mechanic, I paid several thousand to a University to learn how to use this TYPE of tool. I have successfully flared two ends of a metal tube for a transmission line on a chevy silverado, successfully with the HF tool set. I guess I will have to make a yutube tutorial.

I broke the stem on the 3/16 die, HF says parts are not available for this tool set, so now I can't flair 3/16 tubing.

Used it for 3/16 brake lines. Tubing slipped in the jaws with clamps fully seated. Needed to use a vise to keep the line slipping out.

I bought this kit to do double and bubble flares on 3/16 brake lines. Even with the wingnuts cranked down the tubing kept slipping, the double flares came out just OK but the bubble flares came out awful. Bought another kit at an auto parts store and it did much better for $10 more.

Sometimes you can save a few dolars, and sometimes you can't. This toll is cheap but it is so imprecise that the flares are uneven and do not seal. Save yourself the aggravation and buy a better tool. This is junk!

tool would not hold the pipe in place, wing nut is broken easily, and the threads easily cross threads
