Works as advertised, can pull about 24 inches of vacuum. works great on distributor pots and EGR valves and vacuum actuator pots. Can test intake manifold intallations, apply small amounts of pressure to backflow ports on EGR transducers. You can bleed brakes (bad review is totally user error)but you must do it SLOWLY as this builds vacuum fast and you can be there all day pulling brake fluid bubbles through the fittings because itll draw air from AROUND the brake fitting if pumped to quickly. I dropped it once and the guage cover came off,(my fault, you should be careful with all diagnostic tools) no big deal, glued it back on but I have had it for 4 years now and I see some hairline cracks forming in the thermoplastic around the guage threads. I applied some model glue with a brush and it sealed it right back up. The vacuum check valve is a Holley carb umbrella check valve that can be services easily. If it gets dirty, it wont build a vacuum. Just take the valve out with 4 screws and wipe the grit off it and itll be good as new. highly recommended, but the HF metal one would work equally well and it looks more rugged, it just cant apply a positive pressure like the Mityvac. This model is not in the Mityvac catalog for some reason, could be a closeout or consumer model.

I was able to bleed my brakes on my atv without any problems, I thought that the master cyclinde was gone but air got cought in the master cyclinder and i was able to recover my brakes back to new condition with this tool.

I changed the flexible front brake lines on my car. Once I got the steel line loose I placed a cap over the line to prevent it from draining out the master cylinder. I picked up some plastic caps for screw protection from the hardware, they worked great and saved me a lot of work. When I had it back together I bleed the air out of each line with this little hand pump. It worked great, loved that I could do this as a one man operation. By capping off the front steel line I didn't have to bleed the back lines. Remember; don't let the master cylinder run out of fluid. I recommend this pump.

Had this for about 10 year, still going strong. If it gives out, would definitely buy again.

I bought this about 6 months ago and use it allot more than I thought I would. I bleed the brakes on the C3 Vette and tuned in the carb with it. My wife doesn't want anything to do with the garage. I had her help me (once) to help bleed the brakes and she kept asking me to hurry up her leg was hurting blah blah blah. Now I can take my time, do it my self, not be rushed and know I did a good job. With all the vacuum accessories on the Vette this will also help me find vacuum leaks (Hadn't had any leaks but in the future this will save allot of time)

I have had this pump for 5 years now. I work on all 4 of our vehicles and several friends vehicles also. Excellent product for beeldeing brakes, flushing out power steering fluid, testing for vacum leaks, testing vacum levels for proper performance. This thing is a lifesaver if you really know how to use it. I love this pump/ Has held up extreemely well even with lots of different fluids through the pump itself. Awesome!

I have used this style plastic MityVac for 15+ years. If you keep it clean (dent let solvent get to the seals) it will last you forever. Don't spend the extra for a metal handle-this one is plenty durable. If you do much car work this is a must have tool. It is worth it for bleeding brakes alone.

I was reluctant buying the plastic handle MV. Now that I have had it 2 weeks and have used it a minimum of 3 times a week, I am very satisfied with it. it has cut the time of flushing the brake system on a motorcycle down to 5 minutes for both front and rear brakes. This was truly one of the better investments I have made in tools.
