Have you ever had the outlet you needed behind a bookshelf full of books and knew it would be a pain in the [redacted] to move it every time you needed to plug something in? Many people use a power strip, only to find the plug hits and keeps the bookcase away from the wall.

This adapter allows one to plug it in and the case (or desk or...)can be slid right up to the adapter, pressing it firmly into the wall. The adapter allows plugs to plug in parallel to the wall, eliminating a lot of hassles. Beware, however, as the unit is rated for 15 Amperes, air conditioning units, for example, may overload it, outlets with loose sockets can overheat (if the plug falls out, replace the socket, or have your electrician do it.)

For sockets which see a lot of use, this will prevent the wall outlet from wearing out as fast, it is MUCH cheaper than an electrician call to replace the socket, but the wall socket MUST be good before it is used.

Do not overload sockets with the dreaded octopus (adapter on adapter with lots of cords coming out), that can be dangerous.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
