in recent production units, the push rod rubber end may not want to automatically/easily line up inside grease cartridge - thus preventing the push rod from pushing the grease towards the dispensing end. It will NOT work unless you make sure the rubber push rod end starts into the cartridge.
Earlier models did not have this issue and worked without having to make sure of the alignment of rod & cartridge.
Maunufacturer needs to look into this to prevent un-needed returns.
I returned two before figuring out the issue and can easily work around it.

Doesn't hold a seal - about a third of the grease gets past the seal and drops to the back of the gun.

Never worked!!!! Followed instructions to the T, and it simply wouldn't pump grease. This is another lesson learned, I need to stop buying this imported junk!

This is a perfect example of buy it nice or buy it twice. The Zerk fitting slipped every five pumps or so (even on the flexible connector) and the handle only primed the grease five out of eight pumps (I had lots of air in between pumps -which I attribute to the poor spring plunger function). I will have to get a new one. I greased two hubs (one axle) and found myself dumping the thing in the garbage.

Doesn't seal grease in the upper portion of the grease gun properly when using a cartridge. I removed the bolt and the top piece the manual indicated you should remove if you're using a cartridge. I removed both ends of the cartridge, put the cartridge in the gun, replaced and top and pushed the plunger fully in. I didn't get much grease before it "ran out", upon further inspection I found most of the grease had went around the seal and was now in the bottom portion of the gun (with the spring).

It made a huge mess and wasted a cartridge of Mobil 1 grease.

Definitely won't buy again and now kicking myself for not reading the reviews here first.

It took me 2 hours to grease my scag with this. Very frustrating. Most of the grease leaks past the plunger giving the illusion that it is empty and needs a new cartridge. When you pull the plunger back down to reload it half a cartridge worth of grease is forced out the back of it. Pretty much useless in my opinion. Even when the coupler is tight the grease still leaks out through the seam wasting tons of grease. Does not work as intended. Spend the 40-60 and buy a Lincoln or a Macnaught. It will be money well spent.

Tried to use this for greasing Zerk fittings on cars and my lawn tractor, but the cylinder threads are smaller than the cap. It appears to screw closed, but will open up at the most in-opportune moment pushing out the grease all over whatever you are doing. Don't waste your money. Spend a little more to get a quality grease gun.

Some as others. Rubber stopper does not fit grease cartridge well rendering the tool useless. Don;t waste your money.
