Harbor Freight Tools Corporate Headquarters is located in the city of Calabasas in Los Angeles County, California. The city is several miles inland from the beach and is the gateway to the beautiful pacific coastline. The city symbolizes a commitment to preserving the Community's natural beauty, semi-rural quality and its long term sustainability by adopting a new green initiative. Calabasas is within easy commuting distance to the city of Los Angeles to the south and beautiful Santa Barbara to the north. Within the community, there are lots of activities to do and places to see including, kayaking up the coast, cultural events, performing arts, championship golf courses, beaches, lakes and amusement parks.
Location & Attractions:
There are many popular attractions nearby which appeal to a wide variety of interests such as, Disneyland, Griffith Observatory, Dodger Stadium, Staples Center, J. Paul Getty Museum, Rodeo Drive, Santa Monica Pier and much more. While picking the right destination for activities may be difficult, one sure thing, there will never be a lack of options.
Education:
The city of Calabasas and neighboring communities are part of the Las Virgenes Unified School District, which encompasses nine elementary schools, three middle schools, three high schools, and one home schooling program, (K-12 grade). Nearby universities within an easy commute from Calabasas include Pepperdine University, California Lutheran University, California State University at Channel Islands, California State University at Northridge, Loyola Marymount, USC and UCLA.
Transporation:
The Burbank, Van Nuys and Oxnard commuter airports are within 35 miles of Calabasas. Los Angeles International Airport is only 45 miles away. The Southern Pacific and AMTRAK rail systems provide convenient freight and passenger service in and around the area. Metrolink operates Monday through Friday on all lines and makes regular stops from Oxnard to Los Angeles Union Station. With a local station just 12 miles away it allows for ease of travel to the local spots. Calabasas has its own trolley service operating Friday – Sunday, and offers its own shuttle service which conveniently takes you throughout Calabasas and neighboring cities. During the beautiful summer months Calabasas offers a Beach Bus which takes you to Zuma beach in Malibu for a nice relaxing day in the sun.
Surrounding Cities:
Calabasas borders on Ventura County, which covers 1,873 square miles and has 43 miles of coastline. The Pacific Ocean forms its southwestern boundary, with Los Angeles County to the southeast, Kern County to the north and Santa Barbara County to the west. Ventura County consists of 10 cities – Camarillo, Fillmore, Moorpark, Ojai, Oxnard, Port Hueneme, Santa Paula, Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks and Ventura (officially San Buenaventura) – and a number of unincorporated communities. Calabasas is also considered part of the beautiful Conejo Valley which is part Los Angeles County and Ventura County consisting of Calabasas, Hidden Hills, Agoura Hills, Agoura, and parts of Westlake Village belonging to Los Angeles County. Lake Sherwood, Hidden Valley, Oak Park, parts of Westlake Village, Thousand Oaks, Moorpark, and Newbury Park, which was formerly an unincorporated area that is now the most westerly part of Thousand Oaks belongs to Ventura County.
