I tried this sprayer for staining my deck. I have a largs deck on my house and didn't want topay somebody to do it for me. I bought the sprayer and it performed flawlessly. I know sometimes it's a gamble at harbor freight with product but thos item exceeded my expectations. I would not recomend this for someone who is using latex paint. Use a roller!

After doing a little research on paint sprayers and thinning of the paint, I found this product to be very useful for my painting project. I intend on using it more. I used a popular "paint & primer" brand and had to thin each gallon with about two cups of water, fixed thoroughly. The sprayer sprayed evenly. Very Satisfied.

This paint sprayer has a paint tester that will help you get the paint thin enough to use. I took this cup and put water in it to see how the test would turn out. Found that the paint you use must be almost as thin as water to do a good job with the sprayer. Canned spray paint is very thin so think of that when you thin you paint. The paint covers well even thinned. I painted a whole patio set in less than 20 mins-1st coat. It is very messy but if you cover your area with a tarp then you will be fine. I loved it!

Used it for putting a wood protector (Thompsons water seal) on my deck. One heck of a lot quicker than by hand. If what you are using has the viscocity of water or paint thinner, this is a great tool. I wouldn't think about trying any paint in it. For the money and my purpose a GREAT buy, if you're wanting to use paint ... get another tool.

The sprayer works fine if the material is thinned enough. I thinned exterior latex paint close to 60/40. It takes about 30 seconds on the trigger before material sprays out. It's not a fine mist like from an expensive spray gun but for painting my soffets it worked fine. I used a 1'x2' piece of cardboard as a shield to prevent overspray. Made painting the roof trim quick and easy but it does spatter. It's not for painting cars or furniture. It's so inexpensive you could toss it rather than clean it and buy a new one.

I used this sprayer to stain my large deck. It worked great. I would probably not use it for anything that I wanted to put I fine finish on, but for stain it worked fine. Just keep it clean and follow the instructions. Much quicker than by hand. If it broke and I needed it for another job I would by another one. Just don't expect to be able to paint a car with it or lay down an extremely smooth finish.

I agree with Tom K. that this works very well. I used it today to paint Behr latex primer on the shed and only time I had a problem was when I ran out of paint, thats when it spit out large drops of paint (primer). Behr said to add no more than 4 oz. of water to the primer and that is what I added. It still would not flow thru the viscosity funel in less than 30 seconds but it went thru the gun fine.





All in all I would say buy this product.

I was working on a small project and didn't have access to my air paint gun... needed an electric one and thought I'd try this out. Definitely worth every penny. I used it for stain, and it worked flawlessly for what I need. Easy to clean and everything, just make sure you have paint thinner on hand. I would only recommend it for really thin stains / paints. It comes with a viscosity cup / funnel to check if your paint is thin enough to work. I've used this for various projects, including painting a deck and got done very quickly compared to brushes. No problem painting horizontal surfaces.





The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is because it' difficult to get the the flow rate and everything working properly, and even after adjusting nozzle and regulator, it wasn't the best spray ever, but it was decent enough.





Also, I don't know how long it'll last. It's starting to vibrate a lot more, to the point my hand's getting slightly numb after an hour of use. Other than that, everything is great about it and I recommend it if you need a spray gun.

Deck was taking hours with a brush for one rail. Finished in 10 minutes on the other. Clean up was a snap.
