    Here are some tips:
    It seems like there are a lot of complaints here, so I wanted to address something:

    First, regardless of the breakers, the gen is only going to put out its maximum power... No more.

    Second, these types of generators, although outfitted with a 240v outlet, are really twin 120v generators. Each leg of the gen is capable of delivering 1600 watts. So, even though it is a "3200 watt" generator, you cannot get more than 1600 watts per leg. Make sure you split up your loads between the two outlets on the gen... Don't expect to get the full rating from one outlet... It cannot happen.

    Running your fridge and a window AC unit? Run One on each outlet... Then split up smaller loads (TV, lights, etc.) between the two as best you can.
    This is a fantastic gen for the price. Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

    My comments: McBrew is correct! This gen has two output 120 volt legs or circuits each properly fused @13 amps. There are two 120v circuits each producing 1600 watts. (1600/120volts= 13.3amps)
    Now, double the numbers: two 120 volt circuits each at 1600 watts x 2= the running watts of this generator of 3200 watts (26.6 amps) total.

    There is a reserve MOMENTARY Power of 400 watts per circuit to start motors of small A/C units, a fridge or freezer, drill, etc. So, 400 watts x 2 circuits = 800 + 3200= 4000 watts max mommentary power output. Period, there is no more.

    If you exceed the 1600 watts on either circuit the engine will surge to provide reserve power of up to 2000 watts. If this 2000 watt power draw remains constant, the gen will be in overload condition and the gen and internal wiring begins to heat up. Heat causes resistance where it takes more power for the watts to be pushed thru the internal wiring. So, a 1500 elec heater and a 500 watt work light would pull 2000 watts / 120 volts = 16.6 amps. (Max is 13.3A) As heat builds within the unit voltage drops to 114 volts and amprage increases. So, 2,000 watt draw on one circuit / 114 volts = 17.5 amps or 4.5 amps over the capacity of the 13 amp breakers. POP! The wiring inside the panel appears to be #16 wire. Under good conditions it will carry 13 amps matching the rated breakers. If a breaker fails to break the circuit flow, heat builds until a wire burns inside the gen or the panel. The same heat damage can occur running appliances at a lower than rated voltage. No Juice now. The manual is not clear on this issue. FYI.

    Hint: Take a felt marker and mark the left duplex recepticle as circuit A and the right one as B. Also, know the A recep shares power output with the 9 o'clock slot on the ROUND 240v recep so mark it A. The B recep shares power with the 3 o'clock slot. Mark it B. However, the watt capacity of the shared recepts is still 1600. Balance loads and tracking wattage of all equipment running is essential on thses units as overload damage is not covered by the warranty as explained on page 11 & 12 of the manual. The manual is confusing on page 12 where the 3200/4000 numbers are for total gen 2 circuit output. 1/2 those numbers for a single receptical capacity. As Mcbrew stated, you cannot obtain 3200 watts or 4000 watts from any single circuit of A or B for a rated 120 volt appliance. Only a 240 volt rated appliance can obtain this max wattage. Warning! Do not atttempt to combine wiring of circuits A&B to double their single output numbers. They are not comatible and not in phase and will cause a "very hot" sparking dead short.

    Bought this gen. Sheet inside manual, states that if gen is not set up for correct altitude warranty is void. High altitude kit lists 3000-6000 and 6000-8000 feet jets . Bought it in Denver but is not equipped with kit. All 4 retailers here do not have the kit. HFT states it might come in from supplier in a little over a month. Turns out all gas engines from HFT have a void warranty for engines not kitted for altitude they're used at. Buyer beware.

    I use this generator bowfishing at night and it easily powers 2600 watts of lights and a radio. It claims that it is 70 decibels which it very well might be but when you are in a boat with it it can be somewhat loud. Built a sound box for it and not a complaint to be had. Runs great and is durable.

    This is my main power source for my house in the winter because i live off grid and there is not enough sun for my solar! I have had this generator running about 8 hours everyday for the last 3 months for a total of around 720+ hours! I am writing this review with my generator powering my internet and laptop and lights and fridge at this moment! This generator has not failed me! Better then my Northstar/Briggs and stratton! oh and its quieter as well!

    Had to add oil before stsrting unit. Oil dipstick is in a difficult spot. Unit started up after five pulls. Tested unit and it easealy powered up my gas boiler, computer, refrigerator and lights all over the house. It responded fast to varying loads. I'm happy with it..

      Sandy came and I lost power for 2 weeks. This baby started right up and powered my house, other then the electric hot water heater which caused the unit to grind and make sounds that scared me during the power outage. Not wanting to risk breaking the generator during the emergency, I decided to shut off the hot water heater. It also was not able to power my wall oven without causing stress, so the oven was unhooked from the panel. Otherwise, we ran all our lights, 3 televisions, 3 tivos, a playstation and our oil heater blower which ran on electricity. My only fear is the platic choke which I can imagine will break over time and of course the idea of relying on an oversees made generator which cost me 250 sheckels or so in an emergency. Thinking about selling this and stepping up to a larger one so the water heater woudl work. No problem with Preditor at all. In fact, the family has welcomed it into our family as a member after its amazing results and 2 weeks non stop work without a burp.

      Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

        Ran my straight for about a week after hurricane Sandy hit. I got mine in the summer time when it was on sale for under $300. You can't really go wrong with this, you can buy 3 or 4 of these for the same price of a name brand one. Only down side I see is getting parts in the future. Other then what I have read on some of the other reviews go out and buy some more fuel line for this.

        I love it. I went to start it and after 5 pulls I thought something was wrong. Yeah, me. Forgot to turn the switch on. 1st pull right up. Turned choke off and ran like a champ. Pretty quiet too. I'll begin the break in tomorrow.
