I purchased this 110lb Pressure Pot to replace my small 20lb pot that I also purchased from HF. I'd have to say that this Pressure Pot works well! I use this in my Powder Coating Shop and we use it at least once a day. We run 120 grit Aluminum Oxide and Fine Grit Coal Slag. Great product for the price! We did have to modify things a bit, but now it works everytime without a hassle. Some of the things we changed is:- Air Input Regulator- Our pot came with a deadman valve, so we removed it and installed foot pedal switch- Changed media hose to a longer (10ft) better lasting hose- Fabricated a screw-on funnel system to refill the pot- Installed a Carbide Tip on the end of the blaster.- Installed all new Shut-off ValvesAfter we did these things, this pot works great day in and day out.

This blaster is very touchy to get to work properly. There are a few "musts" that have to be strictly followed or you'll hate this thing.1-You MUST have bone dry media. If it's not perfectly dry, it will clog and be totally frustrating. If you use sand, spread it out on a tarp in the sun and let it bake until it's absolutely dry. If it's not completely dry you'll waste an entire day dealing with clogs.2-You MUST have an absolutely dry air supply. Any moisture in the air supply will condensate in the tank and make the blast media damp causing it to clog. Don't even think about relying on that cheap water separator that comes with the unit. If you don't have dry air you'll have nothing but problems.3-You MUST screen your media to a consistent size. Nothing larger than what will fit through a standard window screen. Any bits larger than that will cause the tip to clog and you'll spend more time clearing clogs than sandblasting. After you assemble the unit make sure all the factory assembled bits are tight too. Before adding any media, pressurize the tank and check for air leaks. I had to re-tighten and re-tape a lot of the pre-assembled fittings. When using the unit, open the nozzle valve before opening the media valve at the bottom of the tank, otherwise the hose will get packed with sand and it will be difficult to get it to flow properly. Then adjust the media valve to obtain the desired flow of sand. I ran with the input and blast air valves wide open. I found that 100 PSI input worked best for me.I was using dry, sifted, play sand to remove paint and rust from a car frame. Sandblasting is extremely dusty so make sure you wear a good quality dust mask or respirator. The cloth hood that's included is kind of useless. I wore a hoodie with the hood tied tight (keeps flying sand from going down the back of your neck), goggles, a respirator, and a face shield and that worked pretty well. And don't forget a good pair of leather gloves.All-in-all this blaster will work OK if you diligently follow the "musts". And get yourself a pack or two of replacement ceramic tips because they wear out kinda quick.

Excellent product for the money

Comments about Central Pneumatic 110 Lb. Pressurized Abrasive Blaster:
After reading reviews I decided to give it a try. Went to H.F. bought one. Already partially assembled, added large dryer, replaced lower valve, added fine sand 100 lbs in tank, used commercial tow behind compressor. Fired up compressor, opened all valves, adjusted media valve about half way, sand blasted the bottom of my 26 foot boat. took six hours. About 3/4 way done, media hose split about 2 inches from tank. Not a big issue, cut off, reinstalled hose using new clamp. finished blasting bottom. Very happy with this unit. For a hobbyist type unit it would work okay small commercial jobs.

Have used this for a few years without a problem.I did have to repair the copper pipe that goes from the compressor to the tank.It broke off from vibration.I just shortened it a little and put it back in the fitting and all is well.A 10 minute no money fix.

Nice for the price

I bought this unit last month and finally put it to use this week. This is my first time media blasting anything and have had decent results so far.Im having issues with it not flowing consistently but it's partly due to me not setting the valves correctly and the lack of a good quality water dryer system, as I only have a cheap water/oil sperator inline now. Once I correct these issues and swap out the cheap manual valves this blaster will be great for my occasional blasting uses. Ive got it hooked up to my 80 gallon compressor which puts out 16SCFM @90PSI

It works and the price is right

I am using this to strip rust, corrosion and paint from cars, bikes and other items instead of using chemical strippers or sanding. Yes, the instructions are just bit lacking, but anyone with common sense can figure it out. True, you end up with sand all over the place, and in my case, soda...which will kill the grass. Ask me how I know. Please follow the safety instructions as doing something incorrectly could be truly dangerous. You're working with high pressure. My first experience was using sand, and it clogged a couple times, which requires you to disassemble the hose assembly. Once I finished that media, I switched to soda, and that is much better! When using soda, throttle back the flow from the bottom valve a bunch because soda will flow a whole lot more than sand. Make sure you have a good size compressor with a 20-gallon tank or more. I have a 17 gallon tank and 1.5 hp compressor and it won't quite keep up. I have to pause every so often to allow the tank to pressure up again. This is not a poor reflection on the blaster. This problem would exist on any blaster of this size and capacity. A switch to a smaller nozzle will help.Overall, I am quite pleased with this product and would recommend it to others.

110 lb Media Blaster
By ED

I had some heavy rust in a hood of a car. It was baked on and pretty deeply pitted. I used fine coal slag (Blk Magnum/Blk Beauty). It worked great. Some plugging at first but this was due to the media control being too far open. I used the larger diameter nozzels and took out the rubber seal in the tip. I backed off the media valve to half-way and it works great at 100 pounds. Keep all other valves wide open. There are some modifications that can be done to make it better but it does work fine as sent. I even blasted a hood with it and no warping. Deeply pitted areas needed slow, close passes and repeat but eventually came perfectly clean with no damage. This tool gets a bad rap from people who don't really know what they are doing. I'm very happy with the purchase, plus I got the 20% off deal.

Media clogs due to water in air. Nearly inpossible to supply this high volume air without getting moisture. For most uses a siphon type works better. This unit may work ok if you run small batches of sand through it .Would probably be fine if you had a high end air dryer on your compressor system.
Will be useable with some work>>>

Was greatly disappointed with assembly quality when I opened the box. First, there was no deadman valve; only the standard brass shutoff valve on the nozzle. The information tag and floor model had the deadman's valve. Second, all pneumatic fittings, although pre-installed at the factory, are loose and gooped with teflon tape. It looks like the tape was put on by a toddler. If you purchase one of these blasters, immediately disassemble and clean all parts, then put back together with good quality teflon tape, or better yet, Rectorseal. The blaster works okay when assembled correctly. It takes a little experience to get the throttle valve correctly set. Use only filtered sand in the hopper. ANY moisture will cause the sand to stop being metered, and it's a pain to remove the clog.

Decent for the money

this is the second 110lb i have purchased from HF the first one was great went together perfect and even had a dead valve, unfortunately i sold it since i didnt need it. now i'm sorry i did. went to assemble the new one and found the tabs for the handles were drilled wrong so the handles did not line up. next went to put the let on and found they drilled the holes wrong so it was not flat with the ground and it was very loose. last one seemed to work better as well as so far i've found this one to clog easy.
