I run an in-home laser-cutting business and recently purchased a new laser cutter. I needed something with more CFM than an in-line exhaust fan. This unit was recommended to me because it has a large fan capable of maintaining high pressure suction.

I built a custom box outside of my garage (the unit can be a bit noisy if you use in inside) and ran a 4" hose through my garage wall into the unit outside.

It definitely pulls more than enough air through my cutter and vents it directly outside.

I can't speak on the reliability yet since I've only had it installed a few days, but it seems to run great so far!

this is NOT a shop vac! all the negative remarks about it not being a powerul as a shap vac are from knuckleheads who expect it to clean up their shop.
It's a dust collector. It's design is to be used to clear dusty air from your work area. Best use if for bead blast cabinets and sanding (like disk and belt sanders). Any other use would be a poor application.

Great DC light wieght easy to carry to site jobs, and around in my home shop, please add zipper to dust bag hard to clean out through the 4" hole

I have a small shop and only run one tool at a time. I simply don't have room for a full size DC. This works fine for single tool use. I highly recommend replacing the bag with the Rockler 5 micron bag (for their hanging DC) though. I plan to add a thien baffle separator to handle the larger chips from tools like jointers and planers as well, but for now it does the job.





Sound level is about that of an average 1-2HP DC, maybe a little lower. Certainly much quieter than a shop vac. Pulls almost exactly 7 amps.

I have a small shop and this little guy works beautifully. I use it on my tablesaw,planer,jointer and radial arm saw. It is easy to move around the shop and is very quiet .It does a great job of keeping the dust in check.

I wall mounted mine. It's hooked up to my lathe, Drill press and disc sander


It's cut my dust and chips problems by at least 80%. Plan to get another for my Table saw & band saw.

We use several of these throughout the shop and the machinist love them. They are long lasting and the guys can't seem to work without them.

#1 this is not a shop vac and was never intended to be. Dust collectors that cost six figures only have about 1/3 the suction of a cheap shop vac.

I purchased this unit knowing full well what I was buying. I also bought a HF moving dolly on which I built a gallows to hang the collector. This made it mobile and got it up off of the floor. Only a true optomist could look at this thing on the showroom floor and imagine that dinky caster set being usefull,

A 30 micron bag is useless for small particles. I had two Rockler five micron bags so I hooked up both with a "Y". Liked it so well that I ordered a third and now my "RED NECKY" looking dust collector is very efficient. The bags do not even inflate. That means that I am getting max suction because there is no back pressure and I probably reduced stress on motor. Best of all, those one to four micron particles are not being forced out through the pores in the bag.

A seperator is an absolute must for this unit or a $10,000 industrial dust collector. Everything goes through the impeller so it is best to leave the big chunks behind if possible. Those little screens at the input and exaust are there to protect the impeller, not pizz you off. Remove them if you have a super strong desire to tear up the impeller.

Yep I ended up spending about the same as the $200 Rockler unit but I am 100% positive I would have spent another $100 and set it up the same way.

I've had this DC for about 2 months and have loved it since the first time I flipped the switch. Very portable, good suction and takes up very little space in my garage.

I noticed that the suction had dropped noticeably, and emptied the bag, and noticed the screen leading to the bag was clogged. I cleaned it up and suction was back to normal.

I would definitely buy this again.
