Works great as a replacement for my hand held rotary tool. I have not used the grinding or buffing wheels yet, but see it as being useful for drill bit sharpening if a make an adapter to held the bits at the proper angle.

I stumbled across this item while shopping at HF for a rotary tool for some fine detail grinding. Decided to buy it instead of the rotary hand tool because the I figured that the flex shaft would be easier to control, wouldn't heat up as much, and would provide more torque with its larger motor. Right on all three counts. The only trade-off I see is that the top speed is only 10K RPM, but that's plenty high for my needs.





This is a great value.

Again if space is a problem this is for you , I use it for all the hobby meeds of my wife, so she can sharpen/polish/grind/whatever without the worry of her grinding away on my 6 inch grinder...

Nice little compact in size perfect for the hobby bench or toy model maker. I purshased mine for small parts polishing nad knife sharpening. I am not sure about the flex shaft, I didnt hook it up and probably wont even use it, but if space is a real problem and your needing to do little grinding this will do the trick, from sizzors to axes.

This is a handy little gem. I've had mine for about 2 years now and it's just a nice little piece of equipment to have around the house.

I took the abrasive wheel off as I wasn't using it and replaced it with a wire wheel that I made out of a wire wheel with a shaft for a drill. I just ground the opposite side of the shaft off and the shaft came right off and it worked great.

The flex shaft is a nice addition and works well. My only complaint is I wish HF sold accessories for it.

I bought one of these through another vendor and paid twice as much as HF charges, silly me. The tool
works great, especially after the motor break-in period directions are followed. Mine didn't come with a flex shaft but, you can buy them through
MicroMark and probably other internet companies. I'm sure HF will eventually stock the replacement shaft,they do such a great job of bringing us affordable tools. Thank You, Harbor Freight you've got me sold on your products.

started grinding.. love the smoothness.. just needed it to smooth out the edges of my carving tools that are in stock condition.. kinda don't like the plastic components..washers, rings and the threading to secure.. but it'll do.. got the 1 yr warranty.. so it is on!!

I needed a small compact grinder for the shop and also needed a way to sharpen TIG tungsten points. So with a Diamond disk from a HF Circular saw blade sharpener, I thought I had a winner. Trouble was as I tightened the blade on the buffer end shaft, the whole rotor locked up. Further investigation found that the only thing holding clearance on the rotor from the bearings are very cheap snap rings, so go easy when you tighten the grinding wheels and buffers. After understanding the problem and tightening the wheels in sequence, no more problems and I am happy with the tool. A better design would have been to have stepped the shaft to eliminate the snap rings. Its a cute little booger and welcome to my work bench.
