This machine cant be beat for the money. It is solid, accurate and easy to use. It has plenty of power, easily adjusted and runs true. Needs a QCTP and a taper attachment. I have had mine since 2009 and would not take anything for it. You all that think Central Machinery is not good stuff are all wrong. I would put my machine against any in its class.

I bought my lathe in late 2002. I use it in my business. I own a machine shop. Most of my work is done on my turning center, but I do a ton of work on this little lathe. I have ran it a ton. No major problems with it. I did add a digital read out, a different chuck, a wedge style tool post, a coolant mister, and a different center. This has been a very accurate dependable little machine. The three horse three phase motor is plenty powerful for medium machining. It has enough power to feed deep enough and hard enough to get the chips to break in most materials. In low range it has enough torque to do a decent job at larger diameter drilling in Steel. The cast iron base really helps dampen vibration. For the price I don't think you can really go wrong. I can't say enough how happy I am with this lathe.

this is a fine machine, have had several used machines had to deal with slop but this one is right on the money, been using it for several years and still hold true to cut, its a great machine and strong but remember the three phase but American Rotary has a 10HP converter that works great on it, if you want good cuts this is the machine, Joe

Bought this lathe more than a year ago after owning 2 second hand lathes, including a Monarch 10EE.
Instead of compensating for wear on an old machine, I now can rely on this lathe to perform. It is rock solid, has ample power, good range of threads and feeds, is easy to set up, and because its 3 phase, you can easily convert it into a variable speed lathe with an inexpensive VFD. This lathe is a pleasure to use. I bought mine on sale, making it a great deal compared to anything else in its class. HFT gets a lot of bashing by some people who have never even tried the equipment but I know from personal experience that this lathe is a good quality machine.

Have this model in shop for a few years now..This is not a high precision lathe but good for many of the jobs we do..Jog shuttle , foot brake, large chip tray ,all gear ingaged, bore is limited at 1.6in..With the right acessories you can do a lot with this machine..
