I bought this machine several years ago. Got it on sale for [$] (reg [$]) and another 20% off came to [$]. I bought the stands on sale plus got another 20% off. I see that the lathe has gone up 50% in price to [$] now. It's been a good machine for my home shop. Only complaint I'd say is having to physically changing out gears for metric threads. But all said and done, no complaints. I got what I paid for.

Have had my lathe for several years and use it quite often. I have a farm and also repair large equipment for the area. If used right and not abused this lathe will give years of good service.

HF may or may not carry parts for these - however Grizzly sells the EXACT SAME lathe (Made in the same factory just painted a different color but you'll pay for the "Grizzly" name)and they do carry replacment parts. So, if you need parts reserch them out - HF isn't the only ones selling these. I know this because I bought one of these for my production shop used because the owner "Couldn't find parts" - I bought it for a song and dance, Ordered the part that afternoon and fixed it for under $100 - easy day.

I bought this used but like new from a friend. So far its worked flawlessly. Turns and threads great.

This lathe was used occasionally for the first six months and then was used on a daily basis for about a month straight before the motor failed. When the motor failed on April 16 I was running emery cloth on a small part to knock some sharp edges. The motor started chattering so I shut it off and checked the gearing because I thought it slipped out of gear. I took the belt off and tried to restart the motor with no load and it started smoking so I shut it off and unplugged it. That was eight weeks ago and I am still waiting on a motor. Customer service is in Bangalore but their English is ok most of the time. They wanted me to mail the lathe back and it was very difficult to make them understand that the lathe was too heavy to be mailed. I made a great effort and after many phone calls they agreed to send me a motor which after eight weeks looks like I'm never going to get. The last phone call which was today June 26 they said to wait three more weeks and they couldn't tell me when I would get the motor. The mechanical function of the lathe worked well and I think it could be a good lathe, but if you ever have a problem the warranty is not good at all.

PLEASE DO YOUR SELF A FAVOR AND NEVER BUY ANYTHING OVER $2DLR FROM HF, YOU WILL GET BURNED. THATS WHAT I GET FOR NOT BUYING AMERICAN.
