I have had my saw for over three years and it has perform great. I was in sticker shock when I seen the current price as I paid less than half of the current price. I did do a lot of research before I bought this saw. I found out that all saws at the time were imports except for the very high quality industrial saws. I also found this exact saw (except for the color) listed in a larger name brand company at twice the price. This has a full cast iron table, even the extensions are cast iron. It also has a standard size miter slot if you want to upgrade the miter gauge. I feel it is great and have not replaced mine. The rip fence is one of the better ones I have seen offered with a saw. It has T-slots for attachments and a micro adjusting wheel with scales on both side of the blade. The blade is OK but with an upgrade to a high quality blade I had no problems sawing two inch oak. I have also cut some large, heavy pieces and because of this saw's heavy table and stable legs I had no worries of it tipping during a cut. There is minimal vibration and it is very quiet. This saw was definately a great investment and shows that Harbor Freight does sell quality tools. One recommendation would be to install wheels if you need to move it often, it is very heavy.

So far this is a great saw. It was delivered packaged more securely than anything I've ever received. No plastic, none! Directions are simple if you think and have assembled a table saw in the past. All necessary parts were included. Buy the wheel kit before assembling. I'm thrilled and amazed. I used a one day 25% off discount.

The spindle is too short for serious use of a dado blade so I had a new longer spindle made and installed and some play in the trunnion corrected by a local machine shop at a cost of [$]. The motor is not 3 hp; it's about 2 hp and that is sufficient. Nice fence. I bought with a 25% c-pon so even with the cost of a machined spindle, this was a good buy. This was once a craf-man saw and later a regid saw. There are no competitive saws selling for this price (plus shipping) at this high quality, none. But you will have to remove the trunnion and have a serious spindle machined and installed.

I bought this saw back in '90 from a big box store under a different brand name (Ohio Forge) and am using it today. It has been a really good saw for me and my projects have all turned out fine. Granted I'm no master cabinet maker (that would be Dad) but it's quiet, smooth and consistent in its cuts. Other than some modernizations, ie. fence, power switch, it's the same saw (but at a whole new price!) Darn decent machine for a weekend warrior or even semi-serious wood worker.

Greg from memphis has his math all wrong for determining the horsepower rating of this saw, even though it is NOT a 3 HP saw.

Greg states, "This is not a 3 horsepower motor, if you first convert to watts by taking the amps (14a) times the volts (115v) = 1650 then divide by 475.7 watts in a one horsepower, you get 2.1 hp."

Actually, the correct math is:
120 volts x 14 amps = 1680 watts.
One horsepower is 745.699872 (746)
1680/746 = 2.25 horsepower.

Not to mention that 14 x 115 is 1610, not 1650.

Please, for the sake of all that's right and wrong, if you're going to post a correction of a product's published specs, at least take the time to get it right. If I were Greg, I'd just take the saw back and leave the math to someone else for now.

Since Harbor Freight's niche is to provide decent products at lower prices, they have failed to do so in their Table Saw Department.. For this price you can get an amazing saw somewhere else thats been around from the beginning of the Industrial Revolution.. I can't do all the work for anyone reading this but > Clue It'a called a Hybrid Saw.. This saw would be a great deal at maybe $499 and not a penny more.. Also they should sell this fence system alone for under $140 so it could improve other table saws out there because it would mount up to other table saws just fine.. And for their Table Saw that sells for $139.99 (on sale) is more like a $79.99 [@] type Table Saw with a better motor.. Shame Shame... The same goes with their Largest Air Compressor.. Should be around $600 but it's $799 on sale! For just a little more then $800 there are some super nice better named Compressors out there if you look around.. It almost seems H.F.'s inflation is 10 times the rate of the rest of the world..

Where to begin. This a a contractors saw that sells for almost twice what a decent name brand saw sells for. In addition it's 2012 and this saw does NOT have a riving knife! This is a 20 year old design that is the same price as it sold brand new and adjusted for inflation. Anyone that pays even half of what this is listed for is getting completely ripped off
