I do a lot of detail carving and bought one of these because my eyes aren't good enough for the level of detail. This is a great item for the price. I am very satisfied with it. The ONLY thing that keeps me from giving it 5 stars is that the light source is set on the side of the lenz. I'll use this one until it dies then go with the other model from Harbor Freight that uses a circular fluorescent bulb.

I'm a jewelry designer and no matter how tight I tried to tighten the components, the weight of the lamp would cause it to slowly drop. I bought it in another state and didn't have a local store to return it to at the time so I made do. I've had it about 2 years and the plastic piece that secures it to the work bench just broke one day. The light puts off quite a bit of heat, too, if you're going to have to work under for any length of time. I recommend paying a little more and getting a better lamp.
