This is the best small battery charger on the market today - at any price. I use mine about once a month, charges in a short time, has never overcharged a battery in 3.5 years-I don't have time to babysit the charger-get back to it when I can. Also I love the metal hydride batteries, much better than Ni-cad.

I bought this to replace my failing RS Brand charger. This outproforms that one hands down. the only problem is that ya have to plan when to charge since it takes between 5 and 10 hours to charge batteries. Also before you can charge another set of batteries you have to unplug the unit to reset the ic timer. But other then that A++ and Kudos to HF

Batteries are so expensive and with so many electronic devices that use them, I finally decided to make the investment and purchase rechargeable batteries and different chargers to charge them. I purchased two of these.It charges D batteries, C, 9volt, AA and AAA without any issues for me. I've used both of mine three times so far. The red light goes on when it charges and shuts off when done. It does what it does. It can't get better than that.

Works very well, l have had this one for 5 years.
I use it everyday, I use the batteries during the day
and load them and charge over night. It works good
I bought 2 more a couple years ago to charge more batteries
cause of the 8 hour charge time. It hasent failed me yet.

This has been used several times a week for the past year. We use it to charge AAA and AA nimh batteries for both work and home; between us and the kids batteries are constantly being ran through and recharged by this thing. The unit buzzes now, and fear it is on its last legs. Although a multimeter shows its still doing its job with regard to voltage and current thus far.

I spliced in a std. electrical box with a switch with cable clamps that thread into the electrical box so we can reset the unit without unplugging it; highly recommended. Although that ups the price a small amount if you include in the cost of the product.

For the price, it has done as expected. Dropped a star because I feel as though it could have lasted longer than a year before breaking for a product with almost no moving parts. Even though it is charging, the buzzing is annoying and we use it inside.

Still love having inexpensive and fairly reliable options from HF though!

I have had one of these units for at least 5 years (maybe as many as 10 years) and it works as advertised. I am looking at purchasing a second unit as the original unit failed.



I do like the automatic shut-off feature which prevents "cooking" batteries, but is not as good as an "intelligent" charger that senses the charge state (better too if it displays that information), but they cost at least three times as much. Still deciding.

purchase for the 9v charger but the 9v feature does not have auto shut off. Auto off only for other battery types. This is not listed on the box only the instructions. Returning item to store.
