I use urethane sealants - but rarely the whole tube. I have tried competitors' caps, made my own plugs. The best I found was to seal the nozzle with wraps of vinyl tape. Even that fails after awhile. THIS PLUG SYSTEM IS THE BEST EVER!

Seems expensive for a little piece of plastic, but it pays for itself the first time you don't have to throw away a half tube of caulk or construction adhesive.

The long end penetrates the seal on the tube, and is flexible enough to bend to fit inside when the tube is near the end. The threads keep the tube firmly plugged. Dried construction adhesive comes right off.

I have two, I'm buying two more. Going to try it on expanding foam (Great Stuff).

There was never an easy way to save a half used can of expanding foam. I used one of these in a can and let it sit for a month until I had another project that required expanding foam. The caulk saver case out easily and the foam worked just like it had when I first opened it. Great item!!

These things look gimmicky, but they actually work. Somebody goofed up - they were made in the USA.
