This is just your standard drain auger and instructions abound online. You don't spin it fast-the slower the better. Feed it in until you feel the clog and spin it SLOWLY--you don't even need a drill--and pull back.

Tips: remove sink pop up rod from drain. Wear disposable gloves. Trust me. Have a pair of side cutters or pliers handy. Snake works great but is messy when you pull it out and then try to get hair undone. Did it in the toilet bowl twice and was making a mess. Had to reinsert cable to get clog again. If you put the cable back in the drum it will be a big mess. Clean clean clean as you use.

Having the ability to attach a drill onto this device makes it a lot easier to keep a faster revving tip end to make turns easier. Keeping the snake turning at about 50 to 100 rpm litterally allows the device to feed easily around bends. On the first try it picked up the enornous hairball that was clogging the tub drain.


If you want to keep this snake for long use then clean it after you're finished, let it dry and apply a light coating of 3in1 oil before pushing it back into its carrier. It saved us from having to call the plumber. It was helpful to know that when one reached the end of the snake it wouldn't be attached, but before I even used it I pulled out the snake all the way and painted marks on it with red spray paint every five feet.

So for me I couldn't get my old existing snake to the source of blockage, because it was too large and couldn't get around a tight corner somewhere.





Bought one of these, and, by rotating it using a drill while *slowly* pushing it past corners, it made it past the offending corners, got to the gunk, got through it, and saved me a call to a plumber.





Drawbacks: you can't push hard on it very well while twisting, or it pushes in and stops turning (i.e. it's a bit of a weak manufacture, I think). Also when you get to the end of the 25' the snake just comes right out of the box which was odd, but non fatal. Overall I'd recommend it, as it was more flexible than my hand snake and got the job done. Not the best workmanship though.

Came here looking for instruction manual and found none. The coil on the end of the snake disappeared from mine. Next, I pulled the snake out of the drum (not purposely). Once pulled out, you can't rotate it manually or with a drill attached.

Anyone that knowshow to reattach the snake to the rotor please leave a comment instructing others (like me) how to do so. Also, need to know how far snake can be pulled out before it will detach and fail ;)

first of all you cannot use this product at fast speeds first time you mess up it will melt as noted in other comment.if you do mess up as i had:) the way to fix is replacing the spindle which attaches to your drill with a large machine screw and washers and putting two nuts on so it doesn't work loose. still can't use it fast though! the way to reinsert the coily thingy is to open the back, feed the coil into the opening enough to have it start bending when you close the back, lock it in place and screw the back on, now unlock it and feed the coil in as usual. it is a thin coil and will kink with heavy use.

I purchase tons of tools from Harbor Freight with the vast majority being a decent product for an outstanding price! However, coil came right out of housing with no clear way or guidance on how to reattach so that it could be used again.
