I have several different solar panels. This is a great one to add to my arsenal. 12v setting output is 23.6v for the 24v setting it is 47.3v. A charge controller is needed for charging 12v batteries. I use a 7amp controller Item # 96728. I like the seamless integration between the panel and controller. I will be using mine for camping and for a cheap power back-up for my house. Works fantastic and it folds up for storage. I've shown several friends my set-up and the bought one for themselves.

Used it to charge batteries for my ham radio activities. Manual says it needs a controller/regulator to prevent over charging. I think it does or voltages get in the 18+ range. A bit much for my smaller battery packs. But it did charge them lick-it-ty split! It charged the batteries on my Yeasu ft817 fast but I won't do that again without a controller.
