I was looking for something inexpensive to secure a firearm in my home. This was perfect. Easy to conceal and install.

Few things to be aware of
1) keypad is not lush to the front of the safe. If something needs to go against the safe it needs o have 1/2" of hollow space or you need to cut the Sheetrock out around it o have it sink deeper. My walls were 2x6 studs so this was easy for me. Then I finished the inside edge of he Sheetrock to stop dust.

2) The keypad beeps very loud. I didn't want this. I removed the back cover and popped the small lack speaker off with a set of plyers. Simple enough. When putting the back cover back on it is easy to knock the ribbon cable off or he keypad. Simple to correct if this happens.

I really like this product and could not expect more or the price. It is not very fancy but it leant need to be. I recommend 100%.

Installation was straightforward. I installed it upside down to place the hinge on the left, that did not cause a problem. Another reviewer described removing the tiny cylinder speaker from the circuit board to make its operation silent. I also did that with great care an it works fine.

I installed this safe in less than a hour - Really simple and my wife could put this in blind folded. Four lags to wood and your done. Key pad is easy and concels behind pictures or closets.

We bought this safe at our local HF. It worked fine before i installed it, then after installation the safe failed to open electronically, and the green light also failed. I returned the safe to the store and 5 minutes later,I walked out with a replacement that is working perfectly. The customer rep at the store said this is the 1st safe she has seen returned in years!

I think this safe is a great buy for the money. Don't believe the junk you read about it. Also, the published dimensions are WRONG. The safe is 3.5 inches deep and the width of 16 inch centered studs. Installation was easy. I used a stud finder to locate the studs and cut a small 4x4 inch square and used a mirror and flashlight to make sure there were no stud braces or electrical in the way.

I then used a level and yardstick to mark the bottom of the safe and measured up 23 3/8 inches (the height of the safe cavity) and made another level line. I then used a sheetrock saw to cut the sheetrock between the studs and the lines drawn. This took about 15-20 minutes.

Then you insert the safe into the opening and screw it in. DON'T USE THE SCREWS THAT COME WITH THE SAFE. They are too small and won't work correctly. I used 4 3/8 inch x 2 inch hex-head screws to anchor the safe to the studs. Worked perfectly. Complete installation took less the 45 minutes.

The best part of this solution is its ability to be hidden behind clothes, picture or mirror and a very low price. It is so inexpensive, I'm buying two more. Really would like to see a Fire rating, biometrics and a tall option for rifles.

I installed this in a bedroom closet, where it will be hidden from plain sight by hanging clothes. Nice and solid, with a sufficiently heavy steel front door. When installed as directed, it should ward off most casual thefts. It's not Fort Knox, but is good protection for the price.

Our home was burglarized about 5 months after installing this safe in our closet. The house was ransacked, cameras laptops most everything gone. Ran to the closet and the safe locked tight, opened it and our jewelry, cash and passports were safe and secure. One of our best investments, now we also have a the lager [$] safe, the camera system from Harbor Freight, and an alarm from a monitoring company! Thanks worked as intended!

I bought the safe to keep my jewelry in. I put felt fabric on all the shelves to prevent scratches and then I attached sticky-backed hooks to the back to hang rings, bracelets, etc. Works perfectly!! I don't mind the beeps but then I'm not hiding from a burglar (hopefully). Also, my husband did have to shim the sides but that is a lot easier than having to chop your studs if the safe had been too wide. I couldn't be happier with it. I'm even giving one to my friend for Christmas!

Great for the price. I got it one sale, plus used a 20% off cpn!
I do wish it was reversable so the door could swing either way. You can flip it over fine, but then the numbers, etc. are upside down.
It's a little tough to pull the door open from the knob. Maybe they could put a ridge on the knob to pull it better. It fits well between standard studs. They should include wood lag bolts instead of the concrete expansions bolts.
Again, a good unit, especially for the price.
