Great Generator Great Buy!!

Comments about Chicago Electric Generators 800 Rated Watts/900 Max Watts Portable Generator:

Just completed the 25 hour break in period. I changed the spark plug at three hours to an NGK.. Almost all of the 25 hours (22 hrs) was at a 500 watt load. No problems. At 14*f it took 4 pulls to start other than that,3 pulls were enough.

I think the shavings found in the gas tank were from the thread tapping for the handle screw threads.

No leaks or loose fasteners or other problems have been found. I used a little "Never Sieze" on the sparl plugs since the head is Aluminum, gapped the plug at .30, left the choke on a little longer to pull more mixture into the lower end at the start and let it run.

Tomorrow I'm moving it to our cabin and will make it available to my full time neighbor for power outages. I have a HF 3500 watt for major outages. It works great also.

Great Generator Bought another one.

Comments about Chicago Electric Generators 800 Rated Watts/900 Max Watts Portable Generator:

I bought the generator for providing power at my storage unit for a motorcycle battery charger. I read all the reviews before purchasing. The third pull the generator started and did not stop until the fuel ran out. I filled the genrator, set the choke to "3/4 of run" and it started right up. I find it to be quiet. There is a rattling sound, as if small metal particles are moving around inside.

I recommend this product to others and am very pleased and satified.

Great Generator Bought another one.

Comments about Chicago Electric Generators 800 Rated Watts/900 Max Watts Portable Generator:

OK, so the "newness" has worn off, but I can truly say that this is a real deal. Step number 1 is to put an NGK spark plug in it. Step 2, enjoy it. This generator is made for other retailers than HF. If you shop around, you'll see it (or very similar models) for as much as twice the price. I've got almost 75 hours on my first one without so much as a hiccup. I do run it at 40:1 premix. I was so impressed with the first one, after about 6 months of owning it, I bought a second one. It's easy to start, maintain and takes up little space. It is quiet and if you are comparing the sound level to a 4 cycle inverter model, sure it is louder. That is why they make extension cords. I just put a thimble full of fuel in it, run it away from the campsite a little with the extension cord and let it run itself out of fuel for the night. Again, get the NGK plug, use quality oil and enjoy.. P.S. Harbor Freight team in Appleton WI. is fantastic. Very knowlegable, helpful with the kind of service that most retailers have forgotten about. Thanks People.

Great Generator Great little Generator!

Comments about Chicago Electric Generators 800 Rated Watts/900 Max Watts Portable Generator:

Compared to other similar watt generators that are much higher priced this one is great. Did not have any of the problems others have written about but I did take the advice of a few others before firing it up. I got a new autolite 64 plug gapped to .22 (my local auto parts store did not have NGK's) , washed the tank out with clean gas before firing it up and premixed 93 gasoline to 40 to 1 (will mix at 50 to 1 after break in). Fired up on the third pull. Generator does not ping like others have stated but my bet is that they aren't using 93 gasoline or a decent plug. Generator purr's perfectly when load is applied. No skips!

Great Generator Worth it!

Comments about Chicago Electric Generators 800 Rated Watts/900 Max Watts Portable Generator:

Bought this little guy on sale, then found a coupon in the mail, went back refunded the difference no problem. Got home, ran it half hour or so under a light 100 or so watt load, worked like a champ. Got it out a week later tossed a new autolite 64 in it, like others have said, and it does seem to run better with a better plug. Put it under a 700 watt load for about 45 min this time, didn't even struggle. I'd trust it to run the essentials in a power outage, or on a camping trip.

Great Generator Great price great generator

Comments about Chicago Electric Generators 7 HP, EPA/CARB Certified 3050 Rated Watts/3500 Max Watts Gasoline Generator:

I bought this generator to run my 115V miller wire feed welder so I would not have to run up the electric bill or put the hours on my engine driven welder. Generator has no problem running my welder,I am vary happy . Have also used it to run my 33 Gal. Air compressor . The only thing I do not like is the fuel cap on the CARB model, when the metal fuel tank get a little to warm the plastic fuel cap expands and pops of the threaded neck, that is the only thing I do not like, 5 stars anyway.

Comments about Chicago Electric Generators 7 HP, EPA/CARB Certified 3050 Rated Watts/3500 Max Watts Gasoline Generator:

Extreamly well worth price. Quiet and easy to start. I repair window air conditioners and use it at work and on the job site. I can run three 120 volt, 12,000 btu air conditioners at once "PLUS" recovery equipment and vacuum pump all at the same time. Ran unit for over six hours under full load and never ran out of fuel.Going back to buy the 7000 watt next!

Great Generator Excellent For The Money

Comments about Chicago Electric Generators 7 HP, EPA/CARB Certified 3050 Rated Watts/3500 Max Watts Gasoline Generator:

I bought this generator for my jobsite hat has no power. It runs a steel cutter/bender, air conditioning, microwave and all the lights we need. The generator runs 24-7 unless it runs out of fuel or for an oil change. Have had no problems after about 1500 continuous hours, and I mean continuous. I do run Mobile 1 full synthetic motor oil in the engine. The oil is expensive, but the generator only takes about 1/2 qt to fill it up. The t-handle on the starter rope broke, which is ok because I bought the replacement warranty. I will update when the job is finished to let everyone know how many hours I have on it when the job is done, but it should be over 4000.

Great Generator Good Unit

Comments about Chicago Electric Generators 7 HP, 3050 Rated Watts/3500 Max Watts Gasoline Generator:

I purchased this generator a couple of weeks ago to use with my 31' travel trailer. So far it has done everything i have asked of it. The first 20 hours is just about up, so it will get the required maintenance. It's still on "first pull" starting mode which is another good thing. Only thing I can't do with it is run my microwave, and A/C at the same time. Did not expect it would anyways. I can run one, or the other, and everything else with no problems. Noise has not been a factor. It's not quiet, but it's not as bad as some of the bigger motor home Onan generators I have been parked next to. You folks who are able to use your 20% discount coupon are lucky. I have been told by both stores here in Las Vegas that coupon is not allowed for generator purchases. That said I purchased mine on sale due to some holiday sale.
