This is a true Quick Release. I wish this design was on other pliers.
While still holding the pliers, use your index finger to pull the quick release (like pulling a trigger). WOW. So easy to use. You can do it with the hand holding the pliers and never have to release the pliers. Better than any other "Quick Release" I have ever seen.

As for the pliers overall.
Weak plastic knob to adjust opening.
One of the two I got would not work. It would NOT lock. I cut away the Red Rubber - no help. I broke out the manual "Lock" pin. Now the pliers are working automatically like they should.
Called Harbor Freight, they are sending a replacement.
So pliers are OK (not the best). But, having the only true Quick Release I have ever found makes these a top rated pair of pliers.
p.s. I have many, many other locking pliers. So I've seen quite a few designs.
If there were other pliers with this Quick Release Design, I would buy them.

When new the lock release lever may stick resulting with the grips not staying closed. Just oil them and work the release lever in and out a few times until it releases by itself. Then they work great!

I use these to install cabinets and they work awesome. They are easier to travel with than large clamps. I did have to trim the rubber hand grip a little to get it to open wide enough for two face frames. Other than that, they are great.

I wish there's a quick release on "Lock/Unlock" switch. Dont drop it or the loosing knob will come off...
