I bought it for a tile job and thought it would be great to get the first row nice, straight and most importantly , level.
It's just too finicky and hard to level. I found I was using the cabinets to check on the laser. Any slight variance and you'll have perfectly straight but unlevel line. The hardest part was getting the level perfectly vertical in the stand, if you don't the entire horizontal line tilts with it. When you do get it level, don't touch it.
I'm going to take it back and I'll try the self leveling one to see how it works.

It's OK for the price, but not the greatest laser level in the world.

My original intent was to use this level to set the posts and beam of my new house I am building. I was able to get the head and the unit leveled easily enough. The dot laser is super bright, even cutting through moderately bright daylight. The horizontal line, however, was dim and tough to see, even normal lighting indoors overpowered the brightness of the line laser. The line is about 3/16ths of an inch wide when shot to a wall about 20ft away. The height adjustment is limited to the 42"height of the tripod. Unfortunately, I need it to shoot a line about 6ft high. Maybe I'm missing something. If anyone has an idea how to make this tool do that, please let me know. But as it is, I cannot use this level for it's intended purpose, I'll be keeping it though. It will come in handy for some other,projects I have coming up.
